JOB DESCRIPTION –ASSIGNMENT EDITOR

JOB TITLE: ASSIGNMENT EDITOR

EXPERIENCE LEVEL REQUIRED: 13+ years overall 5 years in a top TV station in a

similar role.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 The candidate will work closely with the nationwide/global input
team to ensure that news inputs and visuals from across the
newsgathering patch break first on PTI.
 Will ensure all inputs on a story required by the output desk for a
story are offerd at the earliest.
 She/ He will be involved in the agency’s synergized and
comprehensive planning process and ensure seamless execution of
the day and forward plans.
 Will lead a team that constantly monitors social media, is in constant
touch with newsmakers and network reporters to ensure PTI leads
its rivals in breaking news and reporting events.
 They will ensure all inputs are processed to ensure accuracy and
comply with the editorial policy and statutory requirements.
 Will ensure optimum use of available electronic news gathering
resources. Will play a big role in fostering synergy between the wire
and video teams.
 The candidate should have an intimate understanding of the
technology used for newsgathering, newsroom automation and
digital video transmission.

 BASIC QUALIFICATION:
 Graduate/Post Grad
