Artis
An artist is someone who creates art for the
sake of self-expression or to convey a particular
message or idea. Artists work in a wide range of
mediums, including painting, sculpture,
photography, performance, and installation art,
among others. Their work is often characterized

and it is typically intended to provoke an
emotional or intellectual response from the
viewer.
Artisan
An artisan is someone who creates objects that
are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Artisans work in a variety of trades, including
woodworking, metalworking, pottery, and
jewelry-making, among others. Their work is
often characterized by its skillful craftsmanship,
attention to detail, and practicality, and it is
typically intended to serve a specific purpose or
function.
Curation
To 'curate an exhibit' is to create a collection of
works by the same or different artists that have
some commonality for an involved
interpretation of the material, for an intended
audience.
Sculpture
is a form of artistic expression that involves
modelling, sculpting or carving stone, wood or
other materials. Sculptors can use it to express
themselves through the use of volume and
space.
Photography
is the process of recording an image – a
photograph – on light sensitive film or, in the
case of digital photography, via a digital
electronic or magnetic memory.
Baybayin
An ancient script used by various indigenous
communities in the Philippines, which has been
revived by contemporary artists as a medium
for calligraphy and typography.

Visual
The visual components of color, form, line,
shape, space, texture, and value.
Auditory
expresses ideas and emotions in significant
forms through the elements of rhythm, melody,
harmony, and dynamics.

Combined arts is where different artforms
interact and create something new and exciting
across outdoor arts.
Line is an important element at the disposal of
every artist. Through the lines, as in painting or
sculpture, the artist represents figures and
forms. A straight line is the basic framework of
many forms, but it lacks softness and flexibility.
Straight lines, however, suggest efficiency,
simplicity, and strength. Straight lines depict
flexibility, buoyancy, and grace. Horizontal lines
are lines of repose and serenity. They express
ideas of calmness and quiescence.
Horizontal lines are found in reclining persons,
in landscapes, calm bodies of water, and in the
distant meeting of the earth and sky in what is
commonly called the horizon.
Vertical lines are lines that denote action. They
suggest poise, balance, force, aspiration,
exaltation, and dynamism.
Diagonal lines suggest action, life and
movement. They give animation to a diagonal
line.
Curved lines suggest grace, subtleness,
direction, instability movement, flexibility,
joyousness, andgrace. They are never harsh or
stern since they are formed by gradual change
in direction. they tend to impart these qualities
to any work where they are used.
Crooked or jagged lines express energy,
violence, conflict, struggle.
Color
• Hue: name of color
• Value: hue’s lightness and darkness (a
color’s value changes when white or black is
added)
• Intensity: quality of brightness and purity
(high
intensity= color is strong and bright; low
intensity= color is faint and dull)
Texture is an element that deals with the
sense of touch and is found in all visual arts.
MUSIC
The medium of music is SOUND.
It is produced by man (the human voice
and by most musical instrument).
It is composed of tones and silences
organized in such a manner to convey
the emotions and ideas conceived by
the composer.
rhythm
It is the pulse of the music.
DYNAMICS
The element of music that refers to the
loudness or quietness of music is dynamics.
Classical terms are used to refer to the different
levels pertaining to this.
MELODY
It refers to the linear presentation (horizontal)
of pitch.
HARMONY
If melody is horizontal, harmony is vertical, It
arises when pitches are combined to from
chords. When several noted are simultaneously
played. Harmony can be described in terms of
its "harshness" dissonance or a harsh-sounding
combination; or consonance, the smooth-
sounding combination.
TIMBRE
It is often likened to the color of music. It is a
quality that distinguishes a voice or an
instrument from another.
Texture The number of melodies, the type of
layers, and their relatedness in a composition is
the texture of music. It may be:
a. Monophonic- single melodic line.
b. Polyphonic- two or more melodic lines
c. Homophonic- main melody accompanied by
