Reading and learning the thoughts and knowledge that has been given by the up students coming from

senator miriam defensor satiago on the 12th of february year 2013 in their graduation day. Her speech
contains 3 parts where she dicuss in part 1 is about tabuttaha disaster and weaponizing social media,
where she lectured it briefly and express her opinon about the certain issue. The first one she discuss is
the tabbuttaha. Based on what i learned Tubbataha reefs natural park contains excellent examples of
pristine reefs with a high diversity of marine life that is why it has been called as world heritage sight
where it is located in the teritory of the philippines.However, It is said to be that a foreign people,
specifically american violated the provisions of unathorized entry, damages to the reef, non payment of
conversation fees, destroying the disturbence of the resources and obstruction of law enforcement
officers. Where American ambassador said that it is all an accident and americans that had been
involved speak out that it was all incident. In my opinion, neither it was an accident or not, US warship is
still guilty on what damage they did. They have the responsibility to accept the fact that they are the
ones who partially destroyed the reef off. It is also illegal to perform any promise that forms or part of
the contract without any consent, what they did is showing that even there are rules they can still not
obey them even UN agreed to protect it. In my perception, law are law. It is a written policy that
everyone needs to posses and follow. Many peolple in the society doesn’t have the dicipline to know
what is right or wrong but they should think twice before doing something that affect other people but
also the environment. It is so called world heritage site that needed to be protected, not only that but
also nature and environment. Aside from tabbutaha disaster, senator mirriam defensor santiago also
introduce a new topic that calls out everyone attention, as we all know social media and technology is
increasing on its rate. She states that we can use social media effectively in comes to choosing the right
perssonel for each of every positin on the government. In fact, it is true that social media can be a
weapon as a advantage for the candidate to be known and project him or her self not only in the face to
face but also in the use of growing economy. She discussed that social media has a wide range of scope
that can acquire others to choose them. However senator santiago speak out that Social media lowers
traditional socio-economic barriers to commanding the spotlight. It is said to be that the candidate
should use social media not only to make their name beautidul but also to inform, motivate and
entertain. She also added that a candidate need a comparative database that provides information on
each candidate's age, residence, highest academic degree, and highest professional achievement, would
be a sufficient counterbalance to the tendency of the low middle-class voter to sell his vote or to vote
for the cute personality. This means that people in the society should not be blind on choosing the right
governance because it is where our country’s future will be depending on. In my conclusion, senator
mirriam defensor santiago give a spectacular speech that can motivate future lawyers or other
profession to fight for the right and choose what is right. Her speech is a meaningful masterpiece
because it tells two issues that eveyone doesn’t know about. This improve everyone’s intellectual but
also they will know what happening in their country the lived on.
