Design Brief: Design fundamentals involving basic creative design exercises with emphasis on basic
elements of Design

“The Lego House”


Basic parts of a house.
Project Overview:

The Project is entitled a Lego house which aim to aide students to identity relationship and
proximity of spaces of a typical bungalow house (A low house having only one storey or, in some
cases, upper rooms set in the roof, typically with dormer windows). Where in basic parts of the house
such as Living , Dining, Kitchen and Bedroom will challenge students to design.

The Project will houses a family of 5, and will inhibits a Modern Filipino Design of house which
will express through the lay-outs and swatch theme boards

The goal of this project is to develop a basic space proximity and space relationship. The
proposed project should have the following:

1. Concept
2. Detailed Plan Lay-out of Series project.
3. Furniture and Space Proximity to users
4. Sketches and Theme palette boards

Minor Plate 02: The Living Room/Area (week 4)


The students are task to Design the living area of the given design problem which will contain space
proximity and furniture lay-out and able to provide plan and thematic swatches for the project.

Minor Plate 03: The Kitchen and Dining Area/Room (week 5)


The students are task to design the given design problem and provide the best plan/lay-out of the
kitchen (which will include the basic work triangle), nook area and dining space moreover thematic swatches
and sketches will be needed.

Minor Plate 04: Masters Bedroom (week 6)


The student will come up a design lay-out for a masters bedroom with a walk-in closet and toilet and
bath, provide sketches and mood board.

The Project Bungalow Plan:

The given bungalow plan was intended to be bare to enable students to identify the best location for
the series of activities (Plate 02,03 & 04) the students may alter/add openings and provide other
details on the lay-out.
