DESIGN I
S01 S2023/24 | S 17 & 84 JB
PREPARED BY:
MDM WH@K (DDWR.KL) | TS.MAHZ (DDWR.JB)
Studio DDWR 2138 - Design 1 is a continuation of studio DDWR1126.
There are only 3 projects where the exercises include group and individual
tasks and the complexity of the final project increased from 4 users the
previous semester to 16 users this semester. Students also need to
integrate all the knowledge that they have learned and are about to learn
from other courses this semester such as construction, building facilities,
theory, graphics, heritage and computers into design tasks. Studio activities
are almost entirely carried out online and digitally therefore the
commitment, professionalism and student discipline of this course are
highly anticipated in keeping up with all weekly schedules and work
progress. Students should be responsible for ensuring that their weekly
work requirements are met, recorded, stored, and backed up. All the
instructions and activities in this CI are preliminary and there may be
changes and additions from time to time from the university since we are
still in a precautionary period of endemic. Therefore, students need to be
always aware of any changes and instructions given.
MAIN DESIGN THEME

A corporate retreat is a type of business gathering where company employees come together for team building, networking,
brainstorming, planning, and other activities aimed at improving work processes and enhancing employee performance. It is
usually held outside the company’s regular office environment in a serene and relaxing setting like resorts, campgrounds, or
conference facilities. Corporate retreats often last for several days or even weeks and include activities such as workshops,
seminars, team-building exercises, outdoor adventure sports, and relaxation sessions. The objective of a corporate retreat is to
create a positive and collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and employee motivation, leading to renewed
focus and increased productivity. Companies invest in corporate retreats as a way to boost team spirit, promote communication,
build trust among team members, and foster a healthy work culture.

Therefore, In this semester, through studio projects, studio learning emphasizes the study of identity construct through
architectural design, site appreciation and a residential building type design. It requires students to understand and interpret the
organization's background and needs as well as articulate the building design and programs according to the site context.
Sub Design Theme
A farm-stay is an overnight guest accommodation on a farm to participate in educational, recreational, or social activities on the farm that feature agricultural
practices or qualifying products, or both. It is a new business that provides agricultural tourism services. to gain experience and Experience things that have
never been done before through living and doing. It is a participatory tourism learning way of life. where tourists want to live closer to the local families
visiting Close to nature for learning local wisdom and learning about agricultural life. and community culture gains more life experience. A farm stays is a new
alternative for tourists who want new forms of tourism, farm stays tourism is most common in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Malaysia, and England. Farm
stay agricultural activities are including short-term farming or gardening activities (cultivating, harvesting), farm tours, recreation, gathering, team building
activities, and training classes.
