Attention span in Social Media vs. the Academic Performance of AICS Senior High
School

General Problem:
This research seeks to discover the negative effects of social media on the attention span of
SHS students of Antipolo Immaculate Conception School A.Y 2023-2024

Statement of the Problem:

1.) Which social media platform(s) worsens or improves student’s attention span?

2.) What methods do social media users use to maintain their attention? (cliffhangers,
clickbait, etc.)

3.) What are the impacts of provocative sexual content on the minds of young students?

4.) How does advertising/consumerism through social media affect student’s decisions?

Significance of the Study:

The importance of this research is to assess the impact of social media on the attention
and academic performance of AICS STEM students and use this data to find appropriate
and improved learning.
