TITLE: Milling process

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Milling is widely used in operation because of its versatility in producing various shape of product.
Milling is a machining operation in which a workpart is fed past a rotating cylindrical tool with multiple
cutting edges. The geometric form created by milling is a plane surface. Other work geometries can
be created either by means of the cutter path or the cutter shape.

2.0 OBJECTIVE
To produce a product or part from milling process.

4.0 APPARATUS
Vertical Turret Milling machine, Vanier Caliper

3.0 METHOD OF APPROACH

The students are required to produce a product that has several features refer to detailed drawing.
The following processes are required to complete this workshop project.
a. Milling square
b. Facing to length
c. Milling slot.

4.0 LAB REPORT PREPARATION

The students should prepare a report based on given template (Report Form). Summarize the result
and present the data in tables or figures.

5.0 QUESTION
Briefly explain aspects needed and to be considered during product machining using milling.
