DANGER: Do not use flammable gases such as anesthetics or flammable liquids such
as ethanol near this product, because there is danger of explosion.

4 YEM55700E-8
No. 2C730-532EN*G

WARNING: 1. Connect the power cable and earth terminals correctly as described, to
prevent electric shock.

2. Do not connect this system to outlets with the same circuit breakers and
fuses that control current to devices such as life-support systems. If this
system malfunctions and generates an overcurrent, or when there is an
instantaneous current at power ON, the circuit breakers and fuses of the
building’s supply circuit may be tripped.

3. Do not connect to the system transducers other than those specified by

TOSHIBA, to prevent accidents such as fire.

4. Do not subject the transducers to knocks. Use of defective transducers

may cause an electric shock.

CAUTION: 1. Malfunctions due to radio waves

(1) Use of radio-wave-emitting devices in the proximity of this kind of
medical electronic system may interfere with its operation. Do not bring
or use devices which generate radio waves, such as cellular telephones,
transceivers, and radio controlled toys, in the room where the system is
installed.

(2) If a user brings a device which generates radio waves near the system,
they must be instructed to immediately turn OFF the device. This is
necessary to ensure the proper operation of the system.

2. This system must be placed on a flat surface. If the system is installed on

the pole cart, be sure to securely mount the system to the pole cart and lock
the casters.

3. Before moving the system, be sure to fold down the LCD monitor and
confirm that the LCD monitor is locked. When moving a system that is
installed on the pole cart, hold it by the pole-cart handle. If the system may
fall, possibly resulting in personal injury.

4. To prevent electric shock, do not connect the peripheral units (video printer,
etc.) to an external outlet. Peripheral units should be connected to the
service outlet of the printer support kit. For the connection procedures,
contact your TOSHIBA representative.

5. Do not place any objects on top of the LCD monitor. They may fall, causing
injury.

6. Do not allow fluids such as water to contact the system or peripheral

devices. Electric shock may result.

5 YEM55700E-8
No. 2C730-532EN*G

CAUTION: 1. If the B/W printer is to be used, be sure to connect the printer support kit.
The specified B/W printer must be used.

2. To change the IP address, the network cable must be connected.

If the network cable is not connected, the IP address cannot be changed.

3. When change the setting of image compression.

(a) A image compression ratio can be changed using the DICOM Network Storage setting
(refer to subsection 12.1.4.7), but apply only to the customer who values the size of the
preservation file. The image quality decreases though the size of the preservation file
becomes small if the compressibility is raised.

(b) When change the compressibility setting, have the customer confirm the image
quality. Install the changed setting, after customer’s consent is obtained.

(c) When customer’s consent couldn’t be obtained, return the compressibility to former
setting and install it.

14. APPENDIX C : CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK

Where the battery pack is not in use until the first installation, the caution message may be
displayed when performing installation of the Viamo SSA-640A, this is not failure.

Even the above message is displayed, the Viamo SSA-640A is not failure.

Point the cursor to [OK] in the message box and press [SET] button, and then the Viamo SSA-
640A can be used.

Recharge the battery pack fully, then this message is not displayed.

The battery indicator LED is lighting green and amber alternately, when this message is displayed.

The battery pack should be recharged fully until the LED lights green.

When 90% or more of battery power is remained, recharging the battery pack may fail. So
discharge the battery pack (do battery operation) for more than 5 minutes.

Repeat this procedure three times as the case may be. (Please execute the above steps when not
changing into green within one hour.)

If the LED does not light green, this is possibly resulting in failure, please investigate the cause to
see Service Manual 2.10.8 (Troubleshooting - Battery pack).

NOTE: Causal explanation of a phenomenon (Remained battery power is unknown)

The battery pack has a built-in microcomputer to manage the remained battery
power. For longer storage periods, where the battery pack is recharged fully (100%)
and kept, built-in microcomputer in the battery pack records that remaining charge
in the battery pack is 100%.
However a battery pack has self-discharge characteristics, the remaining charge
should not be 100%; and then built-in microcomputer finds abnormal when
connecting the battery pack to the system next time, causing in the remaining
charge being unknown.
Caution message is displayed on the basis of "the remaining charge which built-in
microcomputer in battery pack recorded", even though the actual remaining charge
might be less. Battery Alarm does not run properly in this case.
To avoid this issue, the Viamo SSA-640A is displayed the caution message and
notices that the battery pack should be recharged fully (100%).
This is designed for the purpose of run down before battery alarm is displayed.
