1.

Provide a concrete example of how different perspectives stemming from diversity can
positively impact an organization or work group.

Being objective in a given circumstance and appreciating what others can do are two perspectives
that can positively affect an organization and work groups as a result of diversity. For instance,
when working abroad, we all know that we would encounter and witness diverse cultures of other
people when we travel to another country. There are workplaces abroad that respect Filipino culture
and treat Filipinos fairly because they cherish them. They are aware of how difficult it is to be apart
from their family in order to meet their requirements. Another illustration is a company that
encourages diversity, where the leader promotes a person based on their performance and
credibility rather than their connections.

2. Do you agree that diversity can be a source of greater benefit than harm to organizations? Why
or why not?

Yes, I do think that diversity can lead to higher benefits because we all know that a company with
well-managed diversity has a productive and well-organized workplace. In addition, because you
foster an environment where employees are empowered, potential investors will pick your business
or organization. When employees focus on the organization's goals rather than on discriminating
against others, it gives us a competitive edge. As a result, they are more productive at work. We are
all aware that in order to maximize the benefits of diversity, executives must educate their workforce
on the topic first. The actions of leaders must not reflect inequity toward their employees, including
bias and discrimination. On the otherhand, a diverse organization leads a better decision making
because when an employees with different backgrounds and perspectives come together, they
come up with a good solutions which leads to the well-managed and improved decision making
results..
