Additional information on Irrespective of when one starts the online MBA programme, the first module will always be Module
beginning, duration and 0, Managing in a Connected World, followed by the next module (Modules 1-4) scheduled. If more
mode of study than one module is running simultaneously, one can choose between those on offer. Note that
modules are shared across intakes.

Should students decide to take a break during the two-year programme, they will be able to start
again at the beginning of any module they are eligible for at that time. For example, in order to take
any electives (Module 5), one must have passed Module 0 plus one or more of Modules 1-4.

Note that the programme must be completed within five years.

Application deadline ESMT administers a rolling admissions deadline. Applicants are welcome to apply any time before
the final deadline. However, they may consider the early application deadline which qualifies for a
tuition discount.

The ESMT Berlin Global Online MBA is a fully online study programme. It is designed to offer
maximum flexibility to you as a student: You can choose to complete the different modules
according to your availability. The MBA can be completed within 24 months, but students have the
option to take up to five years to graduate. The digital nature of this programme allows you to
participate online from any location across the globe.
The programme covers general management with a focus onanalytics, innovation, and
leadership. You will graduate with all the tools a modern decision-maker needs to be a successful
leader.
You may choose add-ons for the scheduled courses according to your interests and needs. It is
possible to book personalised career coaching, take a global module in Berlin called Berlin
Experience Week, or complete a Global Experience Week, an international field study.
This fully online MBA is delivered on the world's most innovative virtual learning platform by
ESMT's world class faculty. As a member of the Future of Management Education (FOME), ESMT
delivers its online content on a platform called the Hub. The Hub is the only learning platform in the
world designed specifically for business education, meaning the experience is tailored to your
needs.
The Global Online MBA consists of 100% online study.
The programme starts with the kick-off module "Managing in a Connected World". It offers an
introduction on how to best work in virtual teams and an introduction to general management.
The subsequent modules can be chosen to be studied at times that suit you. Each module lasts for
15 weeks and contains nine hours of live teaching sessions. Each live teaching session is offered
twice to ensure that you as a student can join from any time zone.
After the kick-off module, the following four core modules are offered:
Module 1: Making Wiser Decisions Under Uncertainty
Module 2: Understanding Your Market
Module 3: Understanding Your Organisation
Module 4: Creating Strategic Advantage
The core modules are followed by an elective and an optional global exchange module. The
programme is rounded off by the final report module. The Global Online MBA is set up to be a 24-
month programme, but you have the option to take up to five years to complete it at your own
pace.
Some optional components of the Global Online MBA can be added for an additional fee:
Personalised career coaching sessions as well as the Global Experience elective are offered at an
additional cost should you choose to attend them. Students can choose to add these options after
the start of the programme.

Language requirements English proficiency test scores are required for applicants who are non-native speakers or who did
not earn a university degree exclusively taught in English. These students have to prove a strong
command of the English language, demonstrated as a rule in the admission interview. In case of
doubt, an applicant might be asked to pass a test such as TOEFL (or a similar one).

Career advisory service As a Global Online MBA student, you will have access to online career services workshops for
specific skills development as well as access to a robust professional network as you consider the
next phase of your career. You are also invited to attend the annual career fair on campus at
beginning of every year, and you may book personalised career coaching sessions for an additional
fee.

As an ESMT student, you will have the chance to meet with potential employers and recruiters and
connect with business leaders from an array of different sectors – both online and offline. Through
the alumni network, you'll also build your professional network on a local and international level.
Global Online MBA students are welcome to visit the ESMT Berlin campus at any time and
participate in open lectures and the annual forum as well as alumni events.

University location
ESMT Berlin is located in the centre of Berlin on the Museum Island, within walking distance of the famous Alexanderplatz.

The campus building itself holds a fascinating history. Built in 1964, the building hosted the Staatsrat (National Council) of the GDR until
1989. After the reunification, the building was used in many ways, including as the temporary office of the German Chancellor. Since 2002,
it has been home to ESMT Berlin.

ESMT has a satellite campus in Berlin-Schöneberg and a branch office in Shanghai.
