APC Note - Transformer Room & Main Switch Room

1. General
 Transformer room - To accommodate the HV switchgear, transformer, LV switch
board and other electrical appliances.
 Transformer - To step down the high voltage 11kW to low voltage 380V (normal
transformer ~ 1500kVA)
 LV service cutout - Electricity supply from the LV output of nearby building’s
transformer (~ 264kVA), no transformer room in the subject building
 Main switch room - To distribute the electricity to the switch rooms of above
storeys (generally include (1) main circuit breaker; (2) switches; (3) distribution
board to distribute the low voltage supply)
 Switch room/ Elect. Room - receive LV supply from main switch room and
further distribute to different areas of building
 ELV room - distribute ELV supply to “PA”, “server”, “security”, “rator”, “amplifier
