Population Growth

Population growth is influenced by natural increase and inward or outward migration. These are
usually measured at a rate of 1,000 people. Population increase is equal to natural increase plus
migration. Migration can either be positive or negative depending on how many people leave or
enter a country.

1. Identify three factors that may account for a fall in the death rate in a country.
Answer:An increase in birth rate,less violence and less diseases.

2. State three factors that may cause a decrease in the birth rate in a country.
Answer: Increase in infant mortality, more diseases and safe sex
