But despite I got ot of information | still have many questions. So, | am sorry if | ask something itis already answered in another post. | work ina start-up and we started NX customization fram the scratch. After choosing most of our Customer Defaults, | realize that is impossible to ask every employee to change the settings on their computers. ite Customer Defaults” In order to solve it, | found the option of creating "Group" and " As far as | know, can create the settings and save them in a .dvp file. | can also make the environment variables UGI_GROUP_DIR and UGI|_SITE_DIR point the folder where this .dvp file is stored, and in such a way | will ust have to edit this vp files in the destination directories so that everyone have the Customer Settings read from a common directory. More or ess I would be able to figure it out... but! stil have one question 2How do | create or edit the .dvp file? | have searched in the installation directory a .dvp fle as an example and | did not find anything... If am right my "User Customer Defaults" must be stored into a .dvp file (Ijust wanted to get an example) In spite all of this isa bit messy for me, I hope my question is clear enough as to understand it @ - Thanks a lot in advance for your time! When you hit OK you will be asked if you want to write to your site, or group, defaults file (depending on what Defaults Level you currently have set) If set to Site it will write to the startup. directory of UGI|_SITE_DIR and write to NX_site.dpv. If the Defaults Level is set to User it will write to NX_user.dpv and save it to wherever your NX Profile Directory is defined, which by default is the path that @GaneshKadole (Is!profile!00540000007xnIcQAA) mentioned above. es = pa aceaee| Object ] Useranmibutes | Doyou wantto save the modified settings to | CAScratch\startup\nx site.dov? The info was really useful and | am already getting there... But | would like to make another question so that I can finish my NX set-up, Despite I spent some time searching on the internet, | did not succeed on creating the 3 different levels of Customer Defaults (Meaning that in File->Utilities->Customer Defaults->Defaults Level I can just see "User’). Allin all, thatis not important since we are just 5 NX users. My intention is to make ‘everyone's NX installation look at the same .dpv file at User level Ifin the future | need to set those 3 different levels, | will give ita try | did succeed on creating a .dpv file with the Customer Defaults | want for everyone. I did it by means of File->Utlities->Customer Defaults->Manage Current Settings->Export Defaults, and then I saved this dpv in a local network folder. In order to make everyones's NX installation read this dpv fle at User Defaults Level, edit len.dat in order to create the environment variable UGII_USER_DIR and make it point to the local network folder where the .dpv files storaged UGII_USER_DIR-D:1Datal (file:D:1Datal} [You can take a look to the ugii_env.dat in the picture in attachment] According to my small research and experience, it should work. Once I open NX this Customer Defaults should be automatically loaded at User Level... But it does not happen, | can read the .pdv fle with the Customer Defaults by means of File->Utilities >Customer Defaults- >Manage Current Settings->Import Defaults, but | would like to have them automatically loaded when | open NX (and therefore, being able to modify the .pdv file in the local network and modify ‘everyone's Customer Defaults once they run NX again) lam sure | am missing something in the set-up... Can anyone see it? ‘As usual, thanks a lot in advance for your time and attention!
