4. Why are music, painting, and sculpture called fine arts?
5. In what ways does art contribute to the physical, social, and spiritual well-being of man?
6. What are the functions of art in the context of enhancing your personality?

ANSWERS:

1). Art that is created by the human being using his/her imaginative brain, with that it allows him/her to
express her thoughts or feelings of a certain idea. That is my own definition of art, on the other hand.
Art appreciation is where people appreciate the piece that made of the artist by listening and
understanding their point of view of the piece of art that they made, we viewers or audiences / learning
art can really appreciated their works even though it has many ways to express the arts itself.

2). Art can be an aid to better citizenship by merely displaying patriotism and nationalism, art can
promote citizenship more effectively. Through art, we can communicate our original ideas and thoughts
that set us apart from other people. They expressed their emotions through art, much like our nation’s
greatest painters did, and gained fame for their contributions to the arts while maintaining their
nationalistic and patriotic identities.

3). Art appreciation is an essential subject in the curriculum because it is a comprehensive introduction
to the visual arts, media, methods and history provided in the course. Through listening to many points
of view and interpretations of the artwork, art appreciation stimulates thoughtful discussion and the
realization that there are multiple ways to address any given problem.

4). They are referred to as such since their only purpose in life is to make people happy with their
beauty. Paintings are created for artistic value, not to aid in the construction of a house. Contrarily,
crafts relate to items that were manufactured by hand. These are frequently described as works of art.
Some crafts are useful; for example, we can manufacture our own pillows. These pillows are utilized,
specifically to be used for sleeping. However, as art forms like music, paintings, and sculptures are only
appreciated for their aesthetic worth and need to be distinguished from art having useful purposes, they
deserve their own classification.
5). Stress can occasionally cause several physical aches and pains that have no apparent cause. Art aids
in stress reduction by allowing our minds to unwind, particularly while creating art or even occasionally
just enjoying stunning works of art, which lessens physical aches and pains brought on by stress. Art
contributes to our social well-being by being a form of communication. For instance, despair and suicide
were motifs in Van Gogh’s Starry Night, but no one seemed to care at the time. However, as more
tolerant individuals, we have now understood his message of grief in his paintings. Because we were
able to comprehend what the paintings were, we believe that we had a social relationship to him.
Through its many forms, art allow us to express our love of religion and promotes spiritual well-being.
For instance, because Catholics and Christians are immersed in what the image of Christ, their lord is,
paintings like the extremely renowned painting of Jesus Christ have made it easier for them to feel more
connected to the spiritual realm.

6). We become happier and more modest as a result of art. Happy in the sense that, in contrast to the
real world, we can usually do whatever we want when creating art. We portray ourselves as the richest
person on earth or as the tallest person on earth. It doesn’t matter because art opens up our
imagination to a whole other realm. Simply put, envisioning is significantly less desired than really
bringing our fantasies to life through works of art like paintings. Even though it is fiction most of the
time, this allow us to be content and pleased with our lives.

By appreciating how difficult some paintings are, we can grow humble through art. For example, I can
try to copy the other art works of the other, however I cannot actually create the same painting because
of how talented and exceptional the artists were. It encourages us to consider that, when it comes to
the activities we enjoy, we are all simply fish in a little pond. There are huge fish, tiny fish, bigger fish,
and the biggest fish.
