Summary: English is widely used in the world nowadays. It has become increasingly
important in Vietnam. It has been a compulsory subject in Vietnamese education system.
It is not easy to learn and master English. It is even more difficult to translate from
English into Vietnamese and from Vietnamese into English. To give certain knowledge
of translation, his article will deal with some important issues in translation which
is necessary for developing professional competency and skills of every area in our
country in the period of development and integration at present time.
