approval. Also, piping configuration and plant utilities pipeline routing shall be presented to
QatarEnergy for further acceptance.

3. Piping Specification # 65-PIES-00001, Rev-AA

QatarEnergy has reviewed the Piping Specification and finds it acceptable in principle. However, the
responsibility of proposed material review and approval rests with RLPP-PMT, to ensure the suitability
& safety of the piping system as per applicable codes and standards. QatarEnergy bears no
responsibility for any failure of defects in the design and construction.

*As earlier agreed with RLIC, concrete walkways / paving has already been provided. We will provided 40mm Ashpalt layer
over the concrete Pathway.
* As advised Gravel has been removed
*Soil is compacted at 95% of the MD and have a a minimum bearing capacity of 100 KN/m2 (10.2 Ton/m2) as referred in the
Geotechnical Report which cover occasional crane/Vehicles.

Light duty vehicles (Up to 2 ton), which are normally required for O&M, can circulate safely all over the plant area.
However if a heavy vehicles (above 5 ton) is required to cross the pipe corridor as a special case, a steel sheet shall be
provided over the pipe coridors.
The average pipe depth is 1.5 m below ground with a minimum 1 m.
The elevation are provided in the over all Piping Layout.

GRP pipes can be moved back or side ways to install the Valves. . There are no dismanteling joints provided in NFE WWTP
project also. In NFE it was demostarted and accepted.
Platforms or step ladders are provided wherever not accessible to the operator for normal O&M.

There is pump casing drain to drain the liquid from the pump casing.
At the suction there is a counter spool with a cap where the pipe can be completely drained .
Drains are provided between the check valve & the isolation valve to drain out the liquid from the CV body .
To inspect the valve internals by removing the top plate of the check valve. How ever the pipe drains are not provided for
the removal of the Isoation valve. This was also not part of the Hazop Causes & Consequences.
The motor & the pump are on the same base plate factory aligned , If dismanteled during maintenance Alignment are
carried out as per the vendor recommendations illustrated in the installtion manual.
TRV Not required. The valves in the discharge line to be taged as lock open.
This was also the recommendation in the hazop to tag the Valves where required.
PRV is not required since the Pump casing or the internals are tested at factory for the pressure above the shut of Head of
the pump .

Platforms or step ladders are provided wherever not accessible to the operator for normal O&M.
Noted

Isolation Valve is installed between the distribution chamber & the Aeration tank , dismateling joint not required in GRP
piping system, pipe size is 200mm dia pipe
Valve is not required between Aeration Tank & the secondry settling tank , if the secondry tak is under maintennce the
isloation vale to the areation tank is closed.

There is pump casing drain to drain the liquid from the pump casing.
At the suction there is a counter spool with a cap where the pipe can be completely drained .

In Waste water treatment plants Austenitic grades are used both SS 316/SS 316L are used.
The diffrence is only low carbon in SS 316L which is more resisitance to corrosion used mainly in Pipes where the pipes have
to handel pressure .
However in non Pressuried equipments SS 316 is suitable for WWTP plant Equipments . All the above equipents are
operating at atmospheric pressure.
However in the the lime area after the Beltpress the sludge handeled is 15 %-18% concentration sludge , the the effect of
corrosing is minmal that in intial process stages.

All valves are Hand wheel operated refer to Valve schedule TR Number:

Connecting Valve with the GRP pipes are FF
