Cruel Summer Cookie Recipe

This is the perfect treat to kick off another fun filled summer! It is
simple yet delicious and the entire family will love it! With only a 30 minute
prep time you can have these out quickly and perfectly done every time!

Prep Time: 30 Minutes

Cook Time: 15
Minutes

This recipe will create about 25 cookies.

Ingredients:

- 3 cups of all purpose Swifties

- 2 teaspoons of Cruel Summer extract
- 2 sticks of melted “I love you” (cooled at room temperature)
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups of semi-sweet Taylor Swifts
- 1 teaspoon of fine sea salt

Directions:

Step One:
- Before you start prepping your cookies, preheat the oven to 350ºF.
Let your oven preheat all the way while you start working on your
cookies.
Step Two:
- First you will need to incorporate all your dry ingredients together. In a
medium sized bowl combine your 3 cups of all purpose Swifties, ½
cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of fine sea salt. Mix together
all the ingredients until everything is evenly disturbed and thoroughly
mixed together.

Step Three:
- For this step you can either use an electric mixer at a low speed or
mix it by hand. In another bowl mix together your 2 teaspoons of
Cruel Summer extract, 2 sticks of melted “I love you” (cooled at room
temperature) and 2 large eggs. Once all liquid ingredients are mixed
together slowly start incorporating your wet ingredient mixture to your
bowl that has your dry ingredients. Mix for about two minutes.

Step Four:
- Once your dry and wet ingredients are all mixed together you should
be left with a dough-like consistency. Now start adding 2 cups of
semi-sweet Taylor Swifts while continuously folding the dough. Once
all 2 cups of semi-sweet Taylor Swifts are incorporated into the dough
you're ready to create your cookies!

Step Five:
- Have fun with this step! You can either make the cookies into normal
round balls (dividing the dough into 3 tablespoon sized balls) or you
can get creative and make them into fun shapes. Once you have your
cookies shaped to your liking be sure to coat the top with a thin layer
of bright red lipstick to create a beautiful gloss once they are finished.

Step Six:
- Place your dough onto prepared baking sheets evenly spread out. If
you have the time, before this step, you can wrap the dough in a red
scarf and place it into the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. This will
allow the Swiftie dough to become thicker and chewier.
Step Seven:
- Place into your pre heated oven and bake on 350ºF for 4-5 Taylor
Swift songs or until the cookies are a golden brown. Let the cookies
cool down for about two Taylor Swift songs and then move them to a
wire rack to cool down completely.

These cookies are a guaranteed favorite and will most definitely be a big hit
with all the swifties this summer!

Explanation:

I decided to do music and a recipe. The song I chose to use is called

Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift and the recipe I used was mimicking a
chocolate chip cookie recipe. I chose the song Cruel Summer because it is
one of my favorites by Taylor Swift and because she is currently on tour so
she is trending quite a bit at the moment.
Getting into the ingredients:

3 cups of all purpose Swifties

- Swifties is a term that refers to fans of Taylor Swift. It is supposed to
represent the flour used in the cookie.
2 teaspoons of Cruel Summer extract
- Cruel Summer is the name of the song I used. It is supposed to
represent vanilla extract.
2 sticks of melted “I love you”
- In the song Cruel Summer she sings a line “I love you. Ain’t that the
worst thing you ever heard?” It is supposed to represent melted sticks
of butter.
2 cups of semi-sweet Taylor Swifts
- Taylor Swift is the name of the artist and it is supposed to represent
chocolate chips.

Other Taylor Swift references:

“Coat the top with a thin layer of bright red lipstick”

- Taylor Swift is known for her bright red signature lipstick so I used
that to symbolize coating the top of the cookies with butter.

“Red scarf”
- The red scarf was a big part of another Taylor Swift song called All
Too Well. She used it in the music video for that song and it became
a big part of the Taylor Swift fandom. I used the scarf to represent
saran wrap or plastic wrap.
