Community Way of Life

We are not interested in having you do these things legalistically, but to understand the purpose
behind them and do them to achieve the goal: being a community of disciples on a mission

Community Way of Life (CWoL) is the Christian way of life made practical for the circumstance of
modern life for a community of disciples on mission.

Put God first – Exodus 20:2-6, Matthew 22:37

Pattern of worship and prayer

Daily personal prayer and scripture reading or study

Family prayer (household prayer)

The Lord’s Day

Church services on the Lord’s Day – community is not a church

Community assemblies

Honouring the Lord throughout the Year (Celebrating Easter and Pentecost day, Christmas
and Epiphany, Community Anniversary and Seasons of preparation – Forty Days, Advent)

Giving to the Lord and His Work

Financial contribution – tithing, special offerings and almsgiving

Community service with certain amount of regularity

Outreach, intercession, and hospitality

Financial stewardship – handling our money

Living a simple lifestyle

Living our life in the Community

Believing the creed and keeping the commandment

Charismatic dimension and ecumenical relationship

Personal relationship with the Lord

Good order in family life (if married)

Good order in relationships as singles (i.e. Christian relationships, courtship patters)


Organizational Practices

Pastoral Groups with elements of brotherly love, faithfulness to the meeting, living in the
light, confidentiality, and mutual accountability

Pastoral leaders and coordinators – governor, accountability partner, counsellor, and


significant help in personal difficulties/emergencies

Coordinators has primary responsibility for community members

Communal spirit
