Chief Operating Officer / QMR
University of Mindanao
Davao City

Dear Madam:

The Department of Arts and Sciences (DAS) – AB Communication Program of UM Digos College
is planning to hold an official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the newly-constructed Mass
Communication Laboratory in UM Digos College on September 28, 2023. This will be held in
conjunction with the celebration of the UNESCO’s 2023 International Day for Universal Access
to Information.

The event will cover a series of activities such as formal ribbon cutting, keynote lectures, and
presentation of student activities related to media and information as a pillar of healthy,
inclusive, informed, and democratic societies. The objective of this event is trifold: (1) to
formally open the newly-constructed communication laboratory in compliance to our regulatory
and statutory standards and industry partners’ recommendation; (2) to create an avenue for
current AB Communication students to learn about the trends and insights into media and
information in the age of digitization; and finally (3) to showcase AB Communication program to
SHS strands and other prospect, incoming students by hosting student competitions. With this
event, we believe that we can sustain the initiatives of our University and forge strong
connections from experts in the industry.

In this regard, we would like to request for the approval of the budget of the said conduct of
activity. I have attached, along with this letter, a budget proposal, and the outline of event
with brief information of our invited resource speakers.

We look forward for a positive response. We are deeply grateful for your patience, support,
and generosity for the improvement of our academic operations and student development
initiatives.

Sincerely yours,

KHAREEN B. CULAJARA, MA
