Communication Skills

In terms of the proficiency scale, I would rate my communication proficient. This is due to my
ability to direct someone using various descriptive descriptors, allowing them to have the utmost
clear understanding of what is being asked of/said. I wouldn’t consider myself an extending as
someone who excels in communication will often have no problems with whatever they are
trying to communicate. This is strictly related to the Escape the Boom exercise we completed in
class. We cleared all three levels with little to no trouble, however, the thing that was lacked was
knowledge of what each button did.

I can improve my communication skills in regard to a one-on-one interview, as I tend to get

nervous in those situations. I can accomplish this by preparing for questions, completing
background research on the position I applied for, and to continue practicing mock interview
with my peers.

Though I explained it is an area of improvement, I do feel confident as a HIGHSCHOOL

STUDENT to go to an interview. Every interview I have gone to, I have got a job or at least been
offered a position, this proves my ability to continue conversations, similar to the speed dating
activity we did. Another example of where I excelled in was the grade 10 interviews. We applied
for a shopper's drug mart cashier position, I was interviewed, and was one of the top 3 to get the
job!
