This illustration of the constellations was engraved by W. G.

Evans of
New York under the direction of astronomer and mathematician Elijah
Hinsdale Burritt in 1835.
It was entered according to Act of Congress through E. H. Burritt’s
1856 edition of “Atlas, designed to illustrate the Geography of the
Heavens” in the dawn of the era of the cowboy.
