Campaign Flow

1. Intro to Kho-Kho

● Since Kho-Kho is not the most popular sport in the country, we need to educate the
audience about it and create a buzz about the sport in the build-up to the tournament.

● We can do that by showcasing the history of the game and emphasising the fact that it is
an authentically Indian sport i.e. it originated in India.

● We can share exciting trivia like- The origins of Kho-kho can be linked to the
Mahabharatha, a version of the sport that was played using chariots in the Mahabharatha.

● The CTA around these posts could be along the lines of- Come see how this sport has
evolved over the years by catching the Rajasthan Warriors in action in the Ultimate Kho
Kho league!

● We’ll learn about how popular kho kho is across the coastal belts of India from the
skipper of Rajasthan Warriors. (Tentative plan)

● #PhirSeZidPakad

3. Origins of Kho-Kho in Modern India

● Deccan Gymkhana in Pune was the first one to launch a formal rulebook for Kho-Kho
in 1914 and these are the rules that govern the game today.

● The Kho-Kho Federation of India was then established as Akhil Bhartiya Kho Kho
Mandal in the year 1955 and it was under this federation that the first national
championship was held in Vijayawada during the 1959-60 season.

● The Kho-Kho federation was incorporated into the Indian Olympic Association after
almost three decades in the year 1982. The same year also witnessed the first-ever
international Kho-Kho match in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata.
4. Maharashtra: A Hotspot for Kho-Kho

● Since the rules for Kho-Kho were formulated in Maharashtra, it's fitting that the sport is
popular in the state.

● In the absence of broadcast and media attention until recently, the sport has been handed
down from one generation to the other.

● This sport is big at the grassroots level but remained largely untapped because of a lack
of media attention and the absence of a franchisee-based league until UKK came along in
2022.

● While the locals of Maharashtra have kept the sport alive, it has failed to catch on in other
parts of the country.

● The UKK has taken the responsibility of taking the sport to other parts of the country.

5. Anticipated Challenges

● Since Kho-Kho is not the most popular sport in the country, we first need to draw
attention to the sport and educate the audience about its technicalities.

● We can only talk about Rajasthan after talking about the league and kho-kho as a sport.

● Despite being one of the oldest homegrown sports in India, kho kho is yet to be accepted
as a mainstream sport in all states across the county.

● Despite the lack of rewards and recognition, the Indian Kho Kho team has been on a roll
and recently won the Asian Champions for both men and women.

ho-kho-championship/)

● It is a big challenge to amplify the success and achievements of the National Team.

● While this may seem like a daunting task, we believe that nothing is impossible jab

6. Hook for the audience

● While the kho kho players leave no stone unturned to bring glory to the country and the
sport, as fans, it is our duty to support them by recognising their efforts and success.

● Acknowledge and appreciate the physical and mental effort that goes into playing kho
kho which is at par with other sports like kabaddi, swimming, wrestling etc.

● While the players may be from across the country, once they put on the Rajasthan
Warriors jersey, they are bound by the common goal of bringing glory to the state and the
franchise.

7. Our Mission

● Our objective as a franchise is to entertain, educate and build evangelists for kho kho so
that the future of the sport and the players are secure.

● We will ask SI to help us achieve the above-mentioned objective with an appropriate

strategy.
