1. INTRODUCTION
➢ India has the potential to transform itself into a global sporting
powerhouse with far-reaching impact on health, education and tourism.
This would require a dedicated approach towards building quality sports
infrastructure. Robust sports infrastructure has a positive impact on not
only the development of a sport ecosystem for a country but also the
community and the economy at large.
2. THE NEED
➢ India has witnessed a spurt of growth in sports infrastructure
development in recent years, which will have a strong impact on the
state of sports in the long run.
➢ It should be designed keeping a large community in mind, which can
increase utilisation and ensure steady revenue streams.
3. IMPORTANCE
➢ Sports in any country are part of a complex ecosystem involving
athletes, sports fans, leagues, private companies, government bodies
and regulatory authorities. All of these stakeholders play an
important role in the development of sports in the country.
4. THE PROBLEM
➢ lack of infrastructure planning, underutilisation of current
infrastructure and poor maintenance of sporting facilities in major
cities, as well as the complex guidelines for the allocation of sports
funds and implementation of sports policies.
➢ Considering the widespread impact sports have on the economy and
community of a nation and the integral role played by sports
infrastructure in the growth of sports, a dedicated approach to
infrastructure development is warranted.
• AIM :
➢ To design an institute of physical education and sports, which will
work towards raising the standards of Indian sports by improving
the grass root level
➢ To create an environment including international standards of the
game for development of Indian sports.
• OBJECTIVE :
➢ To encourage development of Sports and Physical education in
India.
➢ The sports academy should provide both sports facilities and
accommodation for sportsperson both students and staff.
➢ To increase the participation of sportsperson from our country to
compete at national and international events and competitions.
• SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
➢ The project will increase participation of people from children to
adults who are interested to make career in sports which indeed
will be beneficial for the development of sports in our country
➢ A proper grass root training for each individual in physical
education will help towards a bright future.
• METHODOLOGY
➢ LITRATURE STUDY
▪ Conduct literature study to understand the impact of sports
and physical education in one’s life
▪ To study about the present and past condition of sports and
physical education in India
▪ To research about the future of sports and physical
education in India.
▪ Finding the design standards employed in comparable
typologies.
➢ CASE STUDY
▪ Identification of case studies of various prominent examples
in India and abroad.
▪ Conducting live as well as book case studies and tabulating
the findings.
▪ Identifying various functions and their working from the
case study.
➢ SITE STUDY
▪ Conducting site visit to proposed site.
▪ Collecting data about site in terms of climate, geology, past
and current usage.
▪ Collecting data about site surroundings.
▪ Finding about future development in that area.
