B. READING

Linda studies at the Steve Jobs School in

Amsterdam. This school is a little different from
regular schools, and students also learn in a
different way! They all have iPads with apps
and games, and they are free to choose what
they want to learn and explore. Students can
learn science with games, or geography
watching videos. They can also search for new
apps and develop their own ideas. Linda feels
motivated because she studies and learns
according to her
needs, curiosity or difficulties. The other day she had to think about a personal project to
present to her class. So, she developed an app for students where they could ask questions
and the app would give the answer. She felt like a real Steve Jobs that day!

Mathew studies at a special school in

Stockholm, the Egalia School. His parents think
people should treat everyone with respect and
equality, so when they heard about that
concept, they decided Mathew should study
there. In this school, all boys and girls are
treated the same way, based on respect for

changes them and the princess also saves the
prince because girls can do the same things as
boys.

UNIT 2: TEST C
Listening script
Part 1
I’m Paul and me and my friends usually spend our summer in a summer camp. But forget the traditional idea of a wooded area with
adventure sports like hiking and canoeing.
Two years ago, I went to a Music Camp. I was learning how to play the guitar so I really thought it would be interesting. You had no idea! The
camp had all sorts of instruments and everyone played something different.
Last year my dad suggested I try something completely different, so I went to a Computer Camp, where I learned about computer programming,
websites and social networks. It was very interesting!

Part 2 Mathew
In summer camps we have so much fun! We meet new people, do the most amazing activities and always learn something new.
I love camping and telling stories by the campfire with all the campers. My favourite activities are exploring the woods and cooking for my
friends.
Sarah
I don’t really like summer camps. I went once with my cousin Lilly but it was a nightmare. It was an Adventure Camp. We had to hike,
climb mountains, put up tents… Lily was thrilled but I’d rather stay still reading or sunbathing. And there were mosquitoes everywhere. If
there was a Beach Camp I might try it, but no adventure camps again, please!
