OUR MAIN BUSINESS

 POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEM’s FOR STEEL PLANTS.

POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEM

 A Pollution Control System is basically used in steel plants to filter out the poisonous fumes which comes out
during melting & Re-fining of steel.
 It is a system comprising of a series of Hood / ducting / temperature control equipments / Filters / Blowers and
finally a Stack all are connected /installed and commissioned for clean air exhaust.
 The system process varies with respect to the types of Furnaces used / Fume composition & Temperature.
 There are 2 types of FES ( Fume Extraction System)
a) Primary System
b) Secondary System.
 Types of Furnace air Extracted.
a) Induction Furnaces .
b) AOD Furnace
c) EAF furnace
d) LRF furnace
e) Ferro Chrome feeding Area
 All the above system is explained in detail below.

The Ducting is especially designed to transport the dusty fumes from the furnace to the filter system. The
diameter of the ducting is decided with respect to the volume of the fumes generated.
There are 2 Types
a) Water cooled Ducting - Used where Furnace fume outlet temp is above 600 Deg C
Water is Circulated between the 2 walls of the ducts.( Inside and Outside)
b) Air cooled ducting - Used where Furnace fume outlet temp is between 100-200 Deg C

TYPICAL DETAILS OF CYCLONES

Cyclonic separation is a method of

removing particulates from an air,
gas or liquid stream, without the
use of filters through. Rotational
effects and gravity are used to
separate mixtures of solids .

A high speed rotating (air)flow is

established within a cylindrical or
conical container called a cyclone.
Air flows in a helical pattern,
beginning at the top (wide end) of
the cyclone and ending at the
bottom (narrow) end before
exiting the cyclone in a straight
stream through the centre of the
cyclone and out the top. Larger
(denser) particles in the rotating
stream have too much inertia to
follow the tight curve of the
stream, and strike the outside
wall, then falling to the bottom of
the cyclone where they can be
removed.
TYPICAL PICS OF GAS COOLER

Gas Cooler is generally

used for reduction of temperature
where equipment can not be used
with elevated temperature. When a
high temperature gas is passed
through a collector. It is very much
necessary to reduce the
temperature of the dust where FD
cooler is provided before the
collector laden gas. It consist of tube
bundle through which hot gas is
passed and ambient air is passed
over the tubes and so that the
temperature of gas is reduced to
desired value.

TYPICAL DETAILS OF BAG FILTER UNIT

Bag-house filter systems are

used to extract airborne wood dust
particles from the air in the workplace
environment. Dust laden air enters through
the bag-house filters entry inlet. This
incoming air strikes the filter bags, causing
the heavier material to fall to a bottom
hopper. The air with the lighter and smaller
materials is filtered by the filter bags and
clean air is exhausted to atmosphere. The
collected dust material is discharged from
the bag-house filters through a rotary air
lock to be collected in the residual
collecting conveyor system. Air is pulsed
through jets into the interior of the filter
bags. This action causes the bags to ripple,
knocking off the "cake" from the outside of
the filters. This material is also discharged
to the residual collecting conveyor system
through a rotary air lock.
TYPICAL DETAILS OF PULSING SYSTEM

A filter-cleaning
apparatus utilizes pulsed air to
remove matter collected on first
surface of a filter. The pulses are
directed at the filter with a
controlled shape and time to
optimize reverse pulsing. Reverse
flow loosens the material which is
collected in a hopper on the
upstream side of the filter. The
collected matter then being
combusted in the hopper so that
the amount of material collected
is minimized. Pulsing occurs while
the thermal exhaust flow
continues so that operation of the
engine is not interrupted. A
number of valves may be utilized
to clean one or more filters.

TYPICAL PICS OF MECHANICAL UTILITIES

A Rotary valve is a Mechanical utility fitted at the bottom of the Bag filter
hopper to discharge the dust from the bottom of the hopper at regular intervals.
It is fitted with an 1.5 hp Geared motor running at around 30rpm. The motor is
connected to the rotor of the valve with blades welded on rotor shaft.

TIMER CARD

A solid state sequential timer card

is provided in an IP-55 enclosure. The timer
can be conveniently located near the bag filter.

The Input power supply is 220V/240V AC

supply. The output from the timer is also
MIMIC PANEL
220V/240V AC that is fed to the solenoids.
Which operate the pulse valves. The electrical
terminations of the solenoid valves with that
of the timer be done accordance with the
drawing provided. The timers are housed in a
sheet steel housing.
