As per subject, I am pleased to inform you that Russian Government has

reserved scholarships for the students of Islamic Republic of Pakistan which will be
processed through Sindh Higher Education Commission. In this regard, you're requested to
inform concern officials of your university / institute to announce these scholarships among
the candidates and encourage them to apply as per the guidelines mentioned in the document
sent by them.

2. Please ensure to infonn students by sharing attached brochure at all platforms

including notice boards and social media. Further, refer to brochure for further details of

Instruction HOW TO APPLY

The Russian Government offers annual scholarships for Pakistani citizens to study at Russian
institutions. The scholarship is offered for Bachelor's, Master's, PhD degreesand non-degree
programs (short term, semester or one year). Most programs are taught in the Russian language.

Scholarship recipients are required to undertake a preparatory course related to their field of
study (including language training) for one year before pursuing their degree studies. After
passing the one-year preparatory course students can start their degree studies.

The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Karachi is responsible for nominations for this
scholarship; however the placement of candidates at institutions is done by the Russian Ministry
of Science and Education.

Who can apply?

• Pakistani citizens in good health (medical test will be required for successful applicants);
• Applicants having a strong academic record
• Applicants available to study in Russia from September 2024;
• Applicants who demonstrate interest in Russia and commitment to the development of
Pakistan;
• Applications in all fields of study including Medicine will be considered

Language of Instruction

MOST programs are taught in the Russian language and a preparatory course related to the
field of study (intensive Russian-language course and special set of subjects with required
vocabulary) is included in the scholarship. After passing the examinations of the preparatory
course students can start their degree studies.

Some Russian higher education institutions may conduct programs in English, but placement in
an English-taught programis not guaranteed.

PhD students are recommended to find an English-fluent research supervisor.

Institutions and Programs

Applicants are required to do their own research into available programs, institutions and
program-specific entrance criteria. Details on the program can be found on https://education-in-
russia. corn

Applicants are also encouraged to apply directly to their university of choice in Russia. PhD
applicants arc encouraged to contact their potential supervisors.

Studies must be completed within the duration of the scholarship.

Scholarship Conditions

The Russian Government provides the following:

• All tuition fees

• Accommodation subsidy (shared accommodation only)
• Limited monthly stipend (depending on academic performance)

The Russian Government Scholarship DOES NOT cover:

• Travel costs to/from Russia

• Visa costs and facilitation with the Embassy
• Daily life expenses
• Verification of qualification

Only applicants who complete this application and upload all necessary documents can be
considered for the nomination process and scholarship support.

Note:

• Do not submit CVs, ID documents or any other documents not requested.

• Incomplete applications will not be considered.

DEADLINE: 1 NOVEMBER 2023

Nominated candidates may be given a limited amount of time to submit further documents after
1 November 2023. These documents include medical tests, notary translations into Russian,
and/or academic assessments. Institutions in the host country may also require online interviews.
You will be advised accordingly.

Unfortunately individual explanations cannot be provided to unsuccessful applicants. Successful

candidates will be notified by email.
