SCHOLARS ORIENTATION AND MOA SIGNING 2023

I. RATIONALE

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is a national government agency vested with a special
function of developing and implementing welfare programs and services that respond to the needs of its member-OFWs
and their families.

One of its major programs is Education and Training Program whereby the agency provides Degree-Granting
Scholarship Programs to deserving OFW-dependents. These scholarship programs are: 1) Education and Development
Scholarship Program (EDSP); and 2) OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP).

Orientation on Educational Scholarship cum MOA Signing is a regular activity conducted which serves as venue
in orienting the scholars and their guardians about OWWA, the scholarship program, the scholarship agreement and the
scholarship guidelines.

II. OBJECTIVES
a. To serve as venue for the orientation of OWWAs Programs and Services;
b. To serve as venue in orienting the new scholars and their guardians about the scholarship program, the
scholarship agreement/contract, scholarship guidelines, scholars obligations and responsibilities; and
c. To serve as forum for signing of scholarship agreement/contract.

III. PARTICIPANTS

The target participants of this activity are the new scholars of the EDSP, ODSP and their parent/legal guardian in
Isabela, Basilan and Zamboanga City.
