TRAINING DESIGN

Title: PROVINCIAL ATHLETIC MEET

I. Background and Rationale

One of the activities that is now allowed as the Department of Education shifted
back to face-to-face modality is contained in DepEd Memorandum No. 005, s. 2023
and Executive Order No. 64 s. 1993 which states that the agency adheres to the
“Sports for All” policy which mandates the DepEd to make physical fitness and sports
accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, talent and capabilities, in all organized
sports competitions.
Thus, adhering positively to this memorandum, the Provincial Athletic Meet will
be held on February 14-20, 2024 at Cantilan Pilot School. Various sports activities
such as chess, gymnastics, sepak takraw, badminton, track and field events among
others.
In this regard, this training design is being proposed to commence
implementation of financial support to the above-mentioned activity.

II. Activity Description

This PROVINCIAL ATHLETIC MEET will develop the athletic skills of

learners which is important in providing a holistic approach to education. Playing
sports teaches lessons of life, such as teamwork, accountability, self-confidence,
responsibility, and self-discipline. Sports in school help prepare students to face the
challenges of life. They enhance physical and mental abilities of students and help
them achieve their goals.

III. Objectives

This activity aims to:

1. showcase the athletic skills of learner-athletes who qualified for the

Provincial Athletic Meet;

2. develop life and social skills necessary in achieving holistic education;

 3. enhance physical and mental abilities of learners;

IV. Operating Details

Participants : 450 participants composing of athletes, coaches,
officiating officials, Technical Working Group, School
Heads, Administrative Officers
Venue : Cantilan Pilot School
Date of Arrival : February 14, 2024
Departure : February 20, 2024
Duration : 7 days, 8:00am-5:00pm
