Brief Description :

The CWTS 1 students are required to conduct a project. Different project proposal that every group
prepared are having the same goal; For the development of the MEC. Our group has decided to choose the
category livelihood and entrepreneurial for it is something that the members of MEC will sustained for a
long period of time. ‘VEGETABLE SEEDLINGS and ORGANIC FERTILIZERS’ are the proposed project of our
team This could be their source of income at the same time source of daily food.
III. OJECTIVES

- SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD.
- BUSINESS FOR THE MEMBERS OF MEC.
- DAILY SOURCE OF FOOD.

IV. DEFINITION OF NEEDS


(Why is there a need to conduct the activity?)

The proposed activities have been examined and critically planned by this group. The MANGYAN
EDUCATION CENTER (MEC) an extension community of our school (DWCSJ) needs financial support for their
daily needs. As the quotation says “Don’t give a fish but instead teach them how to fish” and so we came
up to a project where our group will give starting livelihood at the same time business by means of giving of
vegetable seedlings. The activity should be done for it will help the whole community of MEC.

The direct beneficiaries of this this activity is :

- All members of the whole community of Mangyan Education Center (MEC)

Planting of Seedlings

- As the seedlings is given to the community. A week from that, the community should start planting. The
CWTS students and the group members will check weekly until the crop is ready to harvest. Monitoring
will be weekly too, Every Fridays at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

The expected outcomes are the following

- 2 months after the vegetables are expected to be harvested.


- Learn the art of opportunity seeking from entrepreneurship.
- Impart the knowledge of sustainability and livelihood to them from farming and
entrepreneurship.
IX. SUSTAINABILITY
(How will this project be sustainable?)

- The beneficiaries of Mangyan Education Center (MEC) should be developed by the project we
conducted. We impart knowledge which could be useful for them to continue the project for a
long period of time.
