CHAPTER I. BACKGROUND

A. Introduction

Talugtug West Central School is one of the biggest schools of SDO Talugtug Annex,
located at the Western Poblacion of Municipality of Talugtug with an area of 23,158 sq.
meters. The School offers K-12 and SP-ICT Curriculum. There are 15 nationally funded
teaching personnel, 2 ALS, 1 Property Custodian and 2 Administrative Assistants. The
school needs additional permanent teachers to handle SPICT Classes.

Talugtug West Central School, Magsaysay District, Talugtug, Nueva Ecija, is an


Eco-Friendly School, Child Friendly and a Zone of Peace. TWCS houses the SDO Talugtug
Annex ,SBFP Centralized Kitchen, and the SDO Talugtug Annex Conference Room and
Dental Clinic.

This school has a total enrolment of 359 from Kindergarten to Grade 6

Our advocacy is preparedness, which is why we prepare in advance for any


situation. We also intend to guard against the advent of Cough Cold and other infectious
diseases to lessen the possible impact of infectious diseases on our lives. Talugtug West
Central School’s Infectious disease contingency plan was created by mapping potential
risks to safeguard us from harm or even death in the event of a threat.

CHAPTER II. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

A. Goal

This 2023 Contingency Plan covers Talugtug West Central School, Schools Division of Nueva
Ecija - Talugtug District, Region III. It focuses on developing schools’ capability and preparedness on
disaster risk reduction management when it comes to infectious diseases for the school year 2023-2024.

B. General Objective(s)

The general objectives of the contingency plan are as follows:

1. Instill the level of awareness on the significance of disaster risk reduction management

among pupils, teachers and other school personnel, parents and the community about the

hazards posted by different disasters that can affect the school and the barangay.

2. Capacitate and other stakeholders regarding the standard operating procedures before,

during and after the occurrence of multi hazards especially in infectious diseases.

3. Reduce the school exposure to hazards, minimize the vulnerability of every pupil, and

personnel.

4. Equip the school’s clientele as well as parents and the community on how to cope-up
with infectious diseases if it occurs.

5. Improves school’s preparedness and early warning signs and devices to reduce affected

learners and personnel.

6. Mitigate the number of casualties and provide aid or assistance to affected individuals.

7. Develop a plan on how to immediately restore the delivery of basic education services

in the community.

Working Group

Purpose:

The schools DRRM Team plays a very vital part in the implementation of the contingency plan and in
conducting the response actions needed before, during and after the disaster. This capacitated SDRRM
Team will do their assigned functions for a systematic response and rescue operation.

Tibag Elementary School Disaster Risks Reduction Team has different clusters with respective leader and
members that carry out specific objectives and responsibilities in times of disaster/ hazard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate the refinement and finalization of the CP to include testing, evaluation,


packaging, updating and improvement.
2. Develop work plan for the completion and updating of the CP.
3. Organize consultation meetings with the planners and relevant technical experts
regarding the development of the CP; and
4. Facilitate the presentation and endorsement of the CP to the authorities for comments
and approval.
