Chicken Rice
I like chicken rice cause every part of
the dish is filled with flavour such as
the rice that is made with chicken
fats, the steamed/roasted chicken
that is served with so sauce and the
soup and few slices of cucumber
that gives a nice finishing touch.
Recipe !

*Fun fact: Chicken rice originated

from Southern China!
Hokkien Mee
One of my favourite hawker food is the
hokkien mee. It’s a dish with egg noodles
and rice noodles stir-fried with egg,
prawns and squid. It is served with
sambal chilli and calamansi lime. I like this
dish because it is flavourful and aromatic.

* Fun fact: this dish was actually created by

frying excess noodles from noodle factories
Fishball noodles
I enjoy eating fishball noodles
because of the chewy noodles and
juicy fish balls. Together with soup,
the dish tastes delicious and I
always crave for fishball noodles.

*Fun fact : Fishball noodle has a

long history of 75 years and it
originated in Hong Kong
Carrot cake
Carrot cake was one of the first dishes I tried
in a hawker centre and it has been my
favourite ever since. Carrot cake refers to a
glutinous rice flour “cake” that’s made from a
white radish cut into cubes, wok or pan fried
till crispy, then cooked into an omelette. They
can come in white or black but I prefer the
black one that comes covered in dark sweet
soy sauce.

Fun fact: The dish was brought over to Singapore by Teochew immigrants and was known ‘char
kway’ which was simply cubes of rice cakes with dark soya sauce.
