gathered data relevant to the study of the the Potential in Computer/Technology Skills of
question number one that tackles the computer literacy based on their personal opinion.

and I’m frightened at operating computer because im not familiar with it. I
don’t go to computer shop ,aybe because I’m a girl and my parents will
scold me if I will)
In table 1 which states, whether they’re good or not at operating computer, two
(2) of the respondents answered that yes they consider themselves good at operating
computer and two (2) of the respondents answered that no they consider themselves
not good at operating computer because having a limited experience and no equipment

respondents answer that yes they have potential at computer skills, and another two

All the respondents’ response says that computer skills is very helpful in their
academic performance such as doing their assignments and performance task, table 2
showed that computer skill is important and all the respondents blurted out that
computer skill make their work easy. Computer skills play a crucial role in enabling
students to accept and use technology effectively for their school work, aligning with the
key constructs of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology computer
individuals are more likely to accept and use technology when they perceive that it will
improve their performance. Computer skills enable students to utilize various digital
tools and resources to enhance their learning and complete school work more
efficiently. For example, they can use word processing software to write essays, create
number four, which asks if they believe that computer skill is important or not

R4 VERY IMPORTANT
All of the respondents answers suggest that computer skill is very important for
them. One of the respondents mentioned that computer skill is one of the requirements
when it comes to jobs so it’s essential to have computer skill just like in the republic
order number 37 1997 In line with the moderation program of Department of Education
applicants with no computer background are advised to have a crash course this

R3
(Practice! just like the quote practice makes perfect but in my case I don’t
have the equipment to practice to maybe that’s the reason why I’m not
good at computer but if ever ill be given a chance to practice why not,
All of the respondents’ responses say that to improve computer skills, they need
to practice operating computers so that they will become accustomed to them. Two of
the respondents also said that their school helps them improve as they are CSS
students, which prioritizes computer literacy, and another two respondents give a hint
23
that for them to improve, they need to have resources to use and to practice, and that's
what restraining them from being competent in computers. We can connect their reason
to the Theory of Acceptance. According to the Theory of Acceptance, there are two key
factors that affect the acceptance and usage of technology: perceived usefulness and
perceived ease of use. When students perceive that improving their computer skills will
be useful to their academic or future career success, they are more likely to engage in
activities that enhance those skills. They understand that computer skills are essential in
today's digital world and recognize the benefits of being proficient in using technology.
Moreover, perceived ease of use plays a significant role. Students are more likely to
embrace activities that improve their computer skills if they perceive them as easy to
learn and use. If they find the learning materials, online courses, or tutorials user-
friendly and accessible, it increases their motivation to invest time and effort into
number 6, which asks if the respondents agree that that teenager/kids in today’s
Table 6
Do you agree that teenager/kids in today’s generation has potential In computer related
skills? Why?
R1 Yes, teenagers today has immense potential in computer skill because thet

are part of the "digital native" generation, having grown up in a
smartphones, and the internet from an early age, which makes them
access to technology than ever before. They often have their own
R2
smartphones, laptops, or tablets, and have access to high-speed internet
Yes, mga bata ron panahona anad jud kasagaran computer, if tanan
computer kay natural na skill na naas mga bata ron naanad nasad silag
mga cellphone tas napay internet so para nako lang naa jud.
(Yes, kids nowadays are usually good at computers and if all of the
R3
teenager will be given an access to computers I’m pretty sure that all of us
within the teenager nowadays and kid todays are familiar with gadgets and
computer skill)
R4 Yes, they have potential in computer operation specially in this world full of
25
which offer teenagers the flexibility to learn at their own pace and explore a
computer skills. They all had various reasons, but the majority believed that teenagers
in this generation have a natural potential because they are already familiar with
computers, and the existence of the internet also affects their potential. The study by
that teenagers often exhibit towards technology, including computers, can contribute to
their potential in computer skills. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and positive mindset can
drive their motivation to explore and learn various computer-related skills. The study
does not specifically address the concept of "digital natives," but it highlights the
environment. Teenagers, being part of the digital native generation, have been exposed
to technology from an early age. This exposure and familiarity give them a head start in
experiment where the respondents were grouped into two (2) and two (2) respondents
per group. The first group was composed of students who said they were good at
computers, while the second group was composed of respondents who were not good
at computers. Both groups were given the same task, but the second group will be
26
guided by the researchers while the first group will have to finish the task on their own.
Both groups will have to finish the task in a span of 2 hours. The conducted experiment
The experiment conducted was success, both of the group was able to finish the
task given, first group finish the task 1 hour and 30 minutes span, while the second
group finish the task beyond 1 hour and 30 minutes but less than 2 hours note that the
second group are respondents who don’t have any major experience at computers and
hardly uses them, at first they hard time in doing the task but they learn faster than
expected with the guidance of the researchers the second group finish their task
correctly that you won’t believe that this is the people who got hard time operating
Microsoft word, the first group also finish the task easily and perfectly you can see that
has potential in computer skill that even if they don’t have any major experience at
handling computer they still able to learn and adapt quickly, and improving in a fast rate.
The only factor limiting their computer skills are the lack of equipment.

This chapter presents the summary and findings of the study. Consequently,
these findings become the basis for drawing conclusions of the results from which

potential in computer and technology skills, and the major factor preventing them from
unlocking their potential is a lack of equipment and experience, this study supports the
theory of Arnold & Sutton (1998), Venkatesh et al. (2003), Gibson (2014). SHS
students, being part of the digital native generation, often perceive technology, including
computer skills, as dominant and essential in their lives. This perception of technology
28
dominance motivates them to explore and develop computer skills to keep up with
societal expectations and stay competitive Arnold & Sutton (1998) even if teenager
don’t have any major experience at handling computer they still able to learn and adapt
quickly, and improving in a fast rate. The only factor limiting their computer skills are the
lack of equipment this support the technology affordance theory SHS students, through
affordances. They are able to grasp the capabilities and functionalities of various
computer technologies, allowing them to utilize them effectively and adapt to different
can adopt quickly in computer task no matter what their circumstances is just with
proper guidance and equipment they’ll learn quickly supported with the UTAUT posits
that individuals' acceptance and use of technology are influenced by factors such as
SHS students' potential in computer skills aligns with these factors. They recognize the
manageable, are influenced by peers and teachers in their social environment, and
often have access to facilitating conditions like technology resources and educational
The research findings support the notion that SHS student of DCPNHS has
potential in computer skills These findings are consistent with the arguments put forth
by other researchers, highlighting the importance of computer skills and with the help of
