Writing has always been a huge passion of mine.

As a child, I was constantly scribbling words

in notebooks, filling them to the brim and as an adult, I am constantly tapping away at my
laptop developing ideas for the next story I wish to tell. Through my passion for storytelling, I
have adapted my passion for writing into an dream (ambition) to become a screenwriter, an
dream (ambition) that I am eagerly optimistic that university will help me achieve. After
extensively researching next steps for me (my prospective next steps), I am certain that this
university course is the ideal direction for me. I am excited to surround myself with others
that have similar aspirations to me and work alongside them. I look forward to not only the
educational value that university will offer but also the networking opportunities I will
hopefully acquire.

Independently, I am constantly working on my own writing projects, these (which) range

from outlines for movies and tv shows that I would like to one day see in production, to the
opening chapters of novels inspired by my favourite works (which are?) . I have entered
these pieces into competitions before along with posting them on social media platforms
and have received praise on my ability to describe a character as if they are a real breathing
human. Additionally, in 2017, I started creating blog posts on a social media platform used to
connect fans of one of my favourite tv shows, (which is?) creating these posts not only
helped me improve the way that I write through gathering and implementing peer feedback
but also helped me learn the importance of community in the writing space. These blog
posts were well received as I boosted to a follower count of over 50,000 and became a
senior moderator for the community where I ran weekly events and competitions along with
creating tutorials and help-posts to make sure that the community ran smoothly. (Rewrite
this section as it does either need some punctuation or rewording).

Alongside these independent projects, I am currently studying the CAVA Access to HE Media
course at Bournemouth and Poole college. On this course, I have had the opportunity to
write several scripts and receive feedback on them through class discussion, I have found
this extremely beneficial as not only has it helped me enhance my writing skill but it has
helped boosted my confidence when showcasing my work. This course is also providing me
with a fruitful understanding of the production side of media,. I feel this to be beneficial to
me as it will allow me to understand the positions of people that I aim to work alongside in
the future (such as?). On this course, I have further developed my research and analytical
skills. This is very important to me as I have grown up fascinated by delving deeper into
topics of interest and obsessing over the finer details. This fascination has forced its way into
my academic life along with greatly impacting my writing for personal projects. I find that
this has helped me create fully fleshed-out characters in my work, characters that have
clear-sighted aspirations and believable faults. (You could also mention the analysing of film
sequences you might already have done with Paul and will definitely be doing with me
after Christmas – these are designed to look at sequences in detail which can also include
characterisation and dialogue)

I believe that this passion for research stemmed from my great fondness for humanities
subjects in school as I was a dedicated subject ambassador for my favourite of the
humanities subjects, history. During this position, I dedicated (choose a different word as
you have used dedicated in previous sentence) my own-time to a range of tasks including
tutoring younger peers for their mock exams and promoting the subject to prospective
students at open-evening events. In my opinion, the experience in this role taught me the
importance of communication as I had to work alongside peers in a collaborative effort to
achieve the best results and time-management as I had to efficiently organise myself to
prepare resources and provide feedback by scheduled deadlines.

Overall, I am passionate about my subject and dedicated to putting in the work relevant to
achieving my overall goals along with being a restless creative soul. I am excited to see how
university will inspire me to create further!
