No one can be compared to Allah.

The Magnificent
(very good, beautiful, or deserving to be admired)

He Who has all of the greatness, who is the most important.

Azamah means greatness. The real greatness belongs to Allah. The absolute (very great or to
the largest amount possible) and perfect greatness on the earth and in the sky belong to Him; everything
witnesses (sees an event happening) His greatness. It is impossible for anyone to be equal to Allah’s
greatness.

The Supreme (having the highest importance, the best)

The One Who is greatest, mightiest (strongest), grandest (magnificent) and above all He has absolute (most important)
complete greatness in both his qualities and the way He is. All His actions are Perfect. Only Allah deserves to be praised
and complimented, as no one else is like Him, only He is the best.

His power and Grandeur (the quality of being very large and special or beautiful) is surely beyond our understanding.

As humans, we are prone to exaggeration. We are quick to declare sporting heroes to be the finest physical
specimens in the universe, just as we are quick to declare best-selling musicians to have the best voices and
supermodels to be the most beautiful people. In reality, however, there is only one "best" and there is only one
"most beautiful". That is, of course, Allah. As Al-Atheem, Allah is "The Supreme".He is the most powerful being that
could possibly exist and cannot be bested by anybody in anything.
Allah is greater than everything. He is the Almighty, and none is even close to having such might
(power). Everything is under Allah’s control and power. He is amazing and perfect, and nothing is like
Him.

Allah has ordered us to glorify (praise and respect) Him with His Name Al Azim.

“Glory” means "dignity, honor, praise and worship." Glorifying Allah means to acknowledge His greatness and
give Him honor by praising and worshiping Him, primarily because He, and He alone, deserves to be praised,
honored and worshiped.

We glorify Him by listening to and agreeing with what Allah has said. Allah’s Word, the Quran, is His Word to
us, all that we need for life in Him. Listening to and agreeing with Him, though, will not glorify Him unless we
also submit to Him and obey the commands contained in His Word. We have to listen to Allah and do as He
says. Just listening is not enough, we have to actually do as He says.
Glorifying Allah makes you obey Him, draw closer to Him, fear
Him and love Him. Thus, believing in Allah through just in our heart and glorifying Him are two
different things.

Actually, the main reason behind Muslims’ problems, weakness and defeat is their belief in Allah without glorifying Him.

In other words, people on earth believe in Allah even those who are skillfully crushing other nations, erasing other
cultures, looting people’s treasures and killing other societies. Better yet, it is written on their currency “In God we
trust”. Therefore, it is very easy to say, “I believe”, but glorifying Allah is the only thing which pushes you to obey Him .
To remember Allah when
looking at nature is to Glorify
Allah, because we are
thinking about how incredible
and powerful He is to make
something so amazing.

Reflecting on Allah’s creations is a mean of glorifying Allah.

How do we Glorify Allah?

We can do so by glorifying His Symbols and Sacred things.

Among the Symbols of Allah are As-Safa and Al-Marwah, and glorifying them is by going between
them when performing Hajj and Umrah.

Camels are also among the Symbols of Allah and we come closer to Him when we sacrifice them
during Eid and Hajj.

This boy is not glorifying

Allah, because He is not
giving glorifying – giving
importance and respect
– to the Masjid, which is
one way of giving
importance to Allah. By
giving importance to His
house.
Glorifying also can be done by abandoning whatever Allah made haram such as gambling, taking
interest, drinking wine,etc.

Glorifying Qur'an is another way of glorying Him. We can glorify Qur'an by believing in it, learning
and teaching it and applying its instructions in our daily lives.

When I am reading the Quran

and trying my best to follow it in
my life, I am glorifying Allah,
because I am giving His words
importance and respect.

Glorifying Allah means glorifying and respecting Allah's Messenger pbuh . We respect and glorify the
Prophet pbuh by following his Sunnah, learning about him and praying to Allah to bestow His
Blessings on him.

If we Glorify Allah, then we must not compare Him to anything else because He has no equal and
nothing is like Him.

Believers know that Allah hears and sees but in a way that is different from that of His creatures.

Allah is a being that is different from that of any of His Creatures.

Glorifying Allah also means that we should deny that He has associates or equals because He is The
Only One Who is Worthy to be worshipped and He is the Only Unique Lord.
“Glory” means "dignity, honor, praise and worship." Glorifying God means to
acknowledge His greatness and give Him honor by praising and worshiping Him,
primarily because He, and He alone, deserves to be praised, honored and
worshiped. "Glorifying" Allah means giving Him all the honor and praise for all
things and holding Him up to a high place of honor in your heart. We give Allah
glory when we worship, Him, praise Him and remember His greatness. To glorify
Allah is when we make Him proud as it were, by living out our lives according to
His Word and His promises manifesting in us.

Why should we glorify Allah? Well, He is the Creator of everything—including us!

—and He alone deserves the glory for all the good things we see and
experience. Being glorious is a part of Allah's very nature, and when we give Him
glory, we are acknowledging that we recognize His glorious nature.

Allah is holy, faithful, merciful, loving, and filled with grace for others. Glorifying
Allah means that we live out those same attributes in our own lives—or least try
our hardest to do so. It's not always going to be easy, and yes, we’re going to
mess up sometimes. But it's OK. As long as we get back up and keep fighting
our sinful nature, trading it for Allah’s glorious nature instead, we will be glorifying
Allah.

Thankfulness and humility are key to giving glory to Allah. We must remember
that every success is a gift from Allah. This thankfulness gives us perspective–
perspective that in the end, any glory that we receive should not be given to us
but to Allah, the One who gives us every success, every ounce of strength, and
every breath of air. Giving the glory to Allah is giving Him the credit for what He
has done.

We give Allah glory when we worship, Him, praise Him and remember His
greatness. To glorify Allah is when we make Him proud as it were, by living out
our lives according to His Word and His promises manifesting in us.
Al-`Azeem means ‘to be important and great’.

Qarun was of the people of Prophet Musa (as) and he was given great wealth, but he bullied his people. Despite his
tyranny (cruel and evil behaviour), the people saw that he was great because of his wealth. But an earthquake
destroyed his mansion and buried his money. So when you begin to be overtaken by worldly standards of greatness,
remember who is truly Great and Most High, and derive your standards from Him. He tells us that the best outcome is
for those who are righteous, so honor the things that He honors.

During Sajdah in salat, We bring together the physical act of bowing to the Most Great, with a verbal reminder of who
He is, in the hope that our hearts also bow in awe of Him. This happens even more so when we prostrate to Him: we are
at our physically lowest point, but we are praising He who is far elevated above everything. We say: “How Perfect is my
Lord, al-A`la [the Highest]”
Whenever you feel that you are ‘great’ or ‘higher’ than other people because of worldly standards, remember that it is
only Allah who is Great and High. Accordingly, He raises people and abases others.

This does not conflict with feeling a sense of accomplishment when you achieve something, or feeling pleased when you
do something good. The Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬taught us: “When a good deed becomes a source of pleasure for you and an evil
deed becomes a source of disgust, then you are a believer,” (Tirmidhi).

These things should cause us to return to Allah and thank Him for what He has enabled us to do.

Al- Azim (the Magnificent)

Al-Azim means the owner of magnificence and greatness. Allah is al-Azim. He owns magnificence and
greatness both in His personality and in His names and attributes. All of the great things are small in His
presence.

1- Allah is magnificent in terms of His personality.

Allah is Azim in who He is and He has magnificence. Human beings are too weak to understand this
magnificence and greatness.

Allah is Azim. His personality is greater than everything and all great things. He is the one that creates big
things. What we know as big and great is small compared to Him. I know that Allah is Azim and greater
than everything; and I believe in it. How can I understand the greatness of the Being, who creates the sun
and galaxies out of nothing with only one command, while I cannot understand the greatness of the sun?
I only believe in it.

2- Allah is great with His names and attributes.

There is no limit for the names and attributes of Allah. He creates a flower through His power easily; He
creates the spring and Paradise as easily. We cannot say this is easier than that related to His power.
Creating an ant is as easy for Allah as resurrecting all human beings after death. In this sense, there is no
limit for the quality of the power of Allah. Allah is al-Azim in terms of the limitlessness of power.

Allah’s knowledge is also limitless like His power. For instance, Allah knows me with His power; similarly,
he knows all human beings and creatures. There is nothing that Allah does not know. The past and the
future, the pre-eternity and post-eternity are always under His control. In this sense, there is no limit for
the attribute of the knowledge of Allah. Allah is al-Azim in terms of there being no limit to His knowledge.
Allah’s sight is limitless like His knowledge. For instance, Allah sees me through His name al-Basir (the
All-Seeing); similarly, He sees all human beings and creatures. Everything is in the scope of His sight. No
creature can be hidden from His sight. He sees and knows the footprints of an ant under the ground in a
dark night. In this sense, there is no limit for the attribute of the sight of Allah. Allah is great in terms of
there being no limit to His sight.

Allah’s hearing is limitless like His sight. For instance, Allah hears me through His name as-Sami' (the
Hearer of All); similarly, He hears all human beings, the sounds of our hearts and all creatures. One
sound does not prevent another sound. One task does not prevent another task. In this sense, there is no
limit for the attribute of the hearing of Allah. Allah is the greatest in terms of there being no limit to His
hearing, there is nothing He cannot hear.
The greatness of Allah exceeds the boundaries of all minds. No one is able to imagine His greatness. It is beyond our
imagination. No matter how much we talk about Allah it is not enough and we are in no way giving justice to the
greatness of Allah. No one is born great. In history, you find so many ‘great’ people, whether in science, business,
writers, etc but that ‘great’ person was not great when he was created, but he became great after having worked and
struggled. So their greatness is adopted. Allah is great from before and great forever after. No one resembles Allah in His
greatness
Allah is great in everything:

▪ In His mercy: Allah is merciful to you to take you to paradise, Allah is the Most Merciful which is why He
deals with you in mercy. ▪ In His ability: if you think you are able to do things, it is nothing, because Allah is
able to do all that He wants, nothing is difficult for Allah, it is just ‘Be and it is’ ▪ In His gifts: Allah’s gifts are so
great ▪

In His beauty: Allah is great in His beauty, though we cannot imagine it.
▪ In His closeness: The closeness of Allah to us is so great, He is not close to us physically, but by His seeing and
hearing.

He does not need anyone to make Him great because He is already the Most Great. ّ ▪ Wisdom: Allah will not
give a high status to anyone, provide, humiliate, give victory, etc except based on wisdom. ▪ Justice ‫ عدل‬:
everything that Allah does is fair, there is nothing unjust, all of His actions are just. ▪ Favor: Allah is dealing
with us minimally with justice, when Allah allows you to acquire knowledge, memorize Quran, give dawah,
have faith, etc – that is all favor. But being given money, that is justice. Anything that is given for your akhira is
favor.

▪ His will: Whatever Allah wills is the most great, anything that Allah did not will is the most great. His will is
associated with His decree, His decisions.

▪ His want: Allah wants ease for you. Allah wants you to worship Him alone. His want is associated with His
legislation (laws) and rules.

No one is worthy to be magnified except Him ▪ We need to magnify Him: In our heart: If Allah is not magnified
(given the most importance) in our hearts, then other things that are not worthy to be magnified, will be
magnified, and that is shirk. Your heart needs love and magnification in order to be at peace, so you need to
channel this love and magnification to the One, not many, who is worthy. And no one is worthy to be
magnified except Allah.

If no one is magnifying Allah, it does not take away from His magnification. For example, a person who is great
is only great based on his followers, but if no one pays attention to him, then he is back to normal. But Allah is
The Most Great before He even created us.

▪ Allah does not need your magnification, but when you magnify Him it benefits you. No one can give
importance to themselves because we are imperfect.

Magnify = to give importance

We give glory to Allah when we do
Dhikar, and remember Him. But we
glorify Him even more when we
actually do as He tells us and stop
doing what He forbids us.
Are we really glorifying Allah when
we do tasbeeh, but the very next
minute we yell and swear at
someone?

Allah is so great, even when He causes a leaf to fall. He gives life and death, He honors and humiliates and He
gives and withholds. We respect all of His actions. His attributes are great and nothing is too great for Him.
Magnifies means to give importance to something.

2.ALLAH MAGNIFIES WHOMEVER HE WILLS

Allah magnifies Himself. We are to respect His rules, decrees, actions, attributes and Names. Allah magnifies
(gives importance) to places such as Makkah, Medina, and mosques. Allah magnifies times such as Ramadan,
sacred months and the last third of the night. Allah magnifies the provision (the things Allah gives us that we
need). Allah magnifies people like Prophets and Sahaba.

Allah magnifies rewards. He can magnify the good deeds from ten times to 700 times to unlimited. We need
to magnify- give importance- to Allah and praise Him. We magnify Him in our heart by always loving Him. We
are magnifying Him in our tongue by always remember Him and our limbs by obeying Him. To fear Allah is to
remember Allah and not forget Him, to be grateful to Him and not ungrateful to Him and to obey Him and not
disobey Him. We follow His rules and laws. We magnify – give importance – to His symbols and rules such as
the prayer, fasting and hajj.
Our duty is to worship Allah and how can you be a slave to Allah? When you know about Him. And when you know
about Him, you feel honored to be a slave to Allah. And this is actual freedom. When you become a slave to Allah then
you do everything for Him. When He says to go right, you go right, and when He says to go left, you go left. ▪ If you’re
not a slave of Allah then you’ll be a slave to anything – duniya, self, shaitan, money. ▪ Islam is the deen of freedom,
when you’re a slave to anything else then you’ll be humiliated and suffocating.

▪ It means great and strong. When you see the skies, you think it’s so great, and what about the Kursi, The Throne, and
the One Who rose over the Throne. He shows us His magnificence so that we do not magnify anything else.

Allah is more greater, more higher and more magnificent and amazing than anything. He is the most important and
special being ever. Everything is under His power and control and nothing is higher, bigger, greater or better than Him.
No one can praise Him like He deserves to be praised, and He is above and better than the praise of His creatures.

By respecting the Holy cities we

are giving importance to Allah
because He told us to respect the
Holy cities of Makkah, Madinah
and Jerusalem.
Allah created superiority (better than average or better than other people or things of the same type)
and greatness among the creation by which they give importance to each other. There are among
people those who are magnified, given importance because of their wealth, others because of their job
or education. Some are given importance because of their knowledge, others because of their rank
and nobility, and so forth. However, Allah is given importance and glorified in all states

Glorifying Allah makes you obey Him, come close to Him, fear Him and love Him.

It is compulsory upon him who truly knows the greatness of Allah, not to utter a word that Allah
hates, nor commit a sin which displeases Allah. It is Allah who takes charge (guards, maintains, etc.)
of every person and knows all that he has earned.

The Impact of Believing in this Name

1- Indeed, Allah is the Absolute Most Great. He is great in His Self, in all His Names and
Qualities. He is great in His Hearing, Seeing, Power, Knowledge, etc. It is not permissible to
restrict His Greatness in one thing and not to the other, because this is from what Allah has
forbidden us to do.

Out of Allah’s Greatness in His Knowledge and Ability is that He feels no fatigue in guarding the
seven heavens and the seven earths, and what is in between. He doesn’t get tired or sleepy at all.

One might be great in his youth and not when he becomes old. One might be a king or a wealthy
person who is honored and magnified by his people but if his kingdom or riches finish, his greatness
is lost as well, and his people might abandon him. However, Allah is the Ever Most Great at all times,
in all conditions and in everything.

Allah is Able, nothing can stop Him or argue with Him or come in His way. He is the True Great One

It is the duty of Muslim to magnify Allah as He truly deserves to be magnified (to be given
importance).

How to magnify Allah? How to give Allah Importance?

First, by believing in the things Allah has told us about Him, about Who He is, What He does. We
cannot give people the same qualities as Allah, we need to develop those good qualities in
ourselves, like being nice and kind, but we cannot become like Allah completely.

Second: By remembering Allah a lot in all times and in every condition. Beginning every task with His
Name, praising and extolling (to praise something or someone very much) Him with what suits Him,
praising Him with dhikar (i.e. to say La ilaha illa Allah and Allahu-Akbar).

And it is a way of remembering

Him, even when we are busy
doing boring daily life
activities!
When we follow the ways of our Holy Prophet pbuh, we are actually giving
glory to Allah, by following His Messenger pbuh!

Third: By obeying His Messenger pbuh

Whoever obeyed the Messenger pbuh, then he has obeyed the One Who has sent him.

And whoever disobeyed the Messenger pbuh, has indeed disobeyed Allah.

Sixth: By giving importance to the religious symbols of Allah such as the Salat, Zakat, Siyam, Hajj,
‘Umrah, etc. [by honoring, respecting and fulfilling their pillars].
We can give importance to Allah
by believing in the Book of Allah;
that it is His Speech that should
be judged with on earth because
it is His law which He has
decided for all mankind and
which He is pleased with.
Whoever does not do that, then
he did not magnify Allah ; but
rather, he resembled the Jews
who cast the Book of Allah away
behind their backs and followed
the devils among Jinn and
mankind.

Allah Al Adheem is the Greatest on the earth and in the heavens above, in places
where our sight cannot reach and of which our minds cannot imagine. His is the
absolute and perfect greatness. No greatness can be compared to His. The
greatest thing we are able to know still has needs. How could the absolute Greatest
have needs? Allah al-‘Azim has none. He is the satisfier of all needs.

‘Adheem means: to be great, large, vast, huge, and enormous and also to be great in rank. The
second main meaning is to be imposing, powerful, superior, and honoured, and the fourth is to be
above any imperfection.

Al-‘Adheem is the greatest and the strongest and He chose us to think about His greatness and
strength each time we bow down and say ‘Subhaana Rabbiyal ‘Adheem’ in our prayer.

In His ultimate wisdom He chose this name of all His names to be repeated a minimum of three times
in each prayer. We say it while we are bowing down, submitting to His greatness and strength.

He is the owner of all strength; each hardship, challenge, or problem you face is insignificant
compared to what He was able to create. Al-‘Adheem created the beautiful sky and the strong and
huge mountains— don’t you think He will be able to solve all your problems? So ask Al-‘Adheem to
help you in all situations and call on Him whenever you feel you need strength to carry on in life.

Meanings and Denotations of Allah's Name Al-Azeem:

1- Allah has all the qualities of perfection, and each quality of perfection is of the highest degree
that no mind can imagine or grasp. He is the One Who is perfect in all aspects of prominence
and might, He is Allah, may He be glorified, and it is not appropriate to ascribe His attributes to
any but Him.
Praying to Allah is a great
way to Glorify Him -
Glorifying Allah makes
you obey Him, come close
to Him, fear Him and love
Him.

If you consider the greatness of al-Az`eem, you will come to know that anyone besides Him is
insignificant, small and unimportant. The human being, no matter how knowledgeable, is limited in
the scope and content of his knowledge. How can you compare such a limited amount of knowledge
with that of the Almighty?
One who highly regards the signs of Allah, respects religious rites, holds in high esteem anything
related to Allah, is surely held in high esteem by both Allah and His servants.

There is no God except Him, the Ever Living, the Eternal- living forever. He is the
Creator of the great heavens, the Most Bounteous, (Bounty means giving man all
kinds of good things and keeping all kinds of harms away from him). The Greatest of
all. He is the Savior (One who saves us) of us all from all problems and difficulties.
He gives honor and power to whom He like. He has bestowed (given as a gift) the
Holy Qur’an on His servants for their guidance and salvation
(being saved from danger, loss, or harm on the Day of Judgement).

Al-‘Azhim is the One Whose greatness has no beginning, and His Majesty (admiration
and respect) has no end. Nothing is like unto Him, so be in awe of His Greatness, and
be satisfied with what he allots to you.

**********

He is the Greatest on the earth and in the heavens above. His is the absolute (most
important) and perfect greatness. All the greatness we know can change or end, and
all of it is a witness to His being the Greatest. No greatness can be compared to His.
The greatest thing we are able to know still has needs. How could the absolute
Greatest have needs? Allah al-‘Azim has none. He is the satisfier of all needs.
Al-Azeem (The Magnificent, The Supreme Glory, The Greatest)

Allah is the One who is greatest, mightiest and grandest. All His actions are perfect, He is the owner of all
power, might, and strength. He is the owner of all strength; each hardship, challenge, or problem we face
is insignificant compared to what He was able to create. Let's turn to Allah for every hardship and ease,
ask Him for help in all situations.
The Most Glorious (deserving great admiration, praise, and honour)
The Most High
The Most Absolute (very great)
The Most Dignified (graceful and deserving respect)
The Most Mighty and Strong
The Most Splendid (excellent, or beautiful and impressive)

The One who is greatest, mightiest, grandest and above all. The One who is of the greatest importance. The One
who is magnificent (very good, beautiful, or deserving to be admired), vast (extremely big) and most revered (to
very much respect and admire someone or something). The One who is of perfect and the best of greatness.
Al-‘Adheem (The Most Great)

(Glorifying Allah makes you obey Him, come close to Him, fear Him and love Him).
Out of Allah’s Greatness in His Knowledge and Ability is that He feels no fatigue or tiredness in
guarding the seven heavens and the seven earths, and what is in between.

Adheem comes from the root ayn-Dhaa-meem, which points to four main meanings. The first is to be great,
large, vast, huge, and enormous and also to be great in rank. The second main meaning is to be imposing,
powerful, superior, and honoured, and the fourth is to be above any imperfection.

. Al-‘Adheem, is the One whose greatness can’t be grasped by sight; it’s beyond all limits, and no human
intellect can ever understand it.

Allah’s name Al-‘Adheem— The Magnificent, The Supreme Glory, the Greatest — on eleven occasions in the
Quran. He is the One whose might and grandeur are contained within Himself. All His actions are perfect, and
only He deserves to be exalted by creation. Al-‘Adheem is the owner of all power, might, and strength.
Everything besides Him is small and insignificant!

‘Adhm refers to strength. Al-‘Adheem is the greatest and the strongest and He chose us to contemplate His
greatness and strength each time we bow down and say ‘Subhaana Rabbiyal ‘Adheem’ in our prayer.

In His ultimate wisdom He chose this name of all His names to be repeated a minimum of three times in each
prayer. We say it while we are bowing down, submitting to His greatness and strength. When we bow in rukoo’
we should focus all of our body and mind on how inferior we are in comparison with Al-‘Adheem. Bowing is
admitting, testifying to the grandeur and the might of Allah!

The magnificence of Allah Al-‘Adheem is beyond our imagination, even though we see part of His actions in
the world we live in. Each attribute or action of any created being, even though it seems great, is insignificant,
small and unimportant looking at Al-‘Adheem. For example the knowledge of the most learned scholar cannot
even be compared to the perfect knowledge of Al-‘Adheem, not in the slightest.
He is great in every way, no one can even come close to being as strong. Rather, everything is under Allah’s
might, power and control. He is the only Lord, the Most High, and Most Great. Nothing can compare to His
awesome greatness - being the best.

Believing in Allah’s greatness means to listen to Him, and

do as He tells us to. That’s what giving Him importance
means.
Al Adheem means the Tremendous. Something that is tremendous is so great we can feel it in
our bones and it makes us shake. This is the greatness of Allah, we feel humbled and small and
unimportant.

The earthquake sent by Allah to the people of Prophet Lut AS is a perfect reminder of Al-Azim. If we are fully
cognizant (understanding and realising) of Allah power and might, it would make us shake to the very core.
AL–AZIM "THE GREATEST" or "THE MAGNIFICENT"

He owns magnificence and greatness both in His names and attributes

✳️All of the great things are small in His presence 💗 ✨ He is greater than everything and all great things✳️He is the
one that creates big things 💢 🌠 Here as a remainder we have elephant 🐘 one of the greatest and biggest animal
in jungle 🏕

AL-AZIM- the Tremendous. Something that is tremendous is so mighty that we can feel it in our bones- just like an
earthquake. Our knowledge of Allah should make us tremble in awe.

Al-'Azīm . The Supreme Glory (being the most important), The Greatest

The One who is greatest, mightiest, grandest and above all. The One who is of the greatest importance.
The One who is of perfect and absolute greatness
The One who is greater, more higher and magnificent than anything. The mighty One in His power, ability
and importance. Everything is subject to His mighty and power, and nothing is greater, higher or superior
(better) to Him. No creature can praise Him to the degree that He truly deserves.

If a person learns that Allah is al-Ahad (the One and Only), he will not associate anything else with Him..
If he learns that He is al-Raheem (the Most Merciful), he will not despair of His Mercy.

Adhm means bone; it refers to strength. Al-‘Adheem is the greatest and the strongest and He chose us to
contemplate His greatness and strength each time we bow down and say ‘Subhaana Rabbiyal ‘Adheem’
in our prayer. In His ultimate wisdom He chose this name of all His names to be repeated a minimum of
three times in each prayer. We say it while we are bowing down, submitting to His greatness and
strength. When we bow in rukoo’ we should focus all of our body and mind on how inferior we are in
comparison with Al-‘Adheem. Bowing is admitting, testifying to the grandeur and the might of Allah!

Al-‘Azeem* is the owner of all power, might, and strength. Everything besides Him is small and
insignificant!

*How Can You Live by This Name?*

*1. Fill up your scales of deeds by remembering Al-Adheem*

Saying: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-‘Adheem [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise,
(and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection).’

Easy to say but with a heavy reward.

Make it a habit to say this any spare moment, while working, cooking, waiting, travelling, etcetera. *
2. Ask Al-‘Adheem for help in all situations.* He is the owner of all strength; each hardship, challenge, or
problem you face is insignificant compared to what He was able to create.

The best way to learn the meaning of Allah’s Name, Al-`Adheem, is to go outside for a nature walk. 🌲
Look at the magnificent mountains! Gushing river! Grand sun! Tall forest trees! Majestic ocean! If all this
splendor, beauty, and greatness is the creation of Allah, so the Creator Himself must be so great,
magnificent, and grand.

We often behave in a way that assumes this world is all there is – that the world of the ‘witnessed’ is the
only thing that exists. When that happens, our priorities get mixed up and we fail to see things as they
really are, but rather only as they appear. Things that are seemingly ‘great’ easily impress us, and we
elevate those things. So we raise money and status, but the Prophet SAW reminds us that what is
underneath is what truly matters. We seek approval from people and society, forgetting that it is Allah’s
approval that matters most. We raise things up to stations that they truly do not deserve. We view
ourselves as great because the standards of this world tell us that we are: for our beauty, our educational
achievement, our job, our ethnicity and skin tone, or our wealth. And so Allah reminds us that He is al-
`Aliyy, al-`Azeem – the Most High, the Most Great. It is a reminder for us not to be duped by the
standards of this world for greatness.

Allah is the most Great. This name of Allah indicates Allah’s excellence in all of HIS Qualities. Allah is
Great in HIS SELF, in Seeing, Hearing , Providing, Kindness and Mercy, in the Ownership of Power.
Al Azim - the Tremendous, the Great. Allah punished the transgressors from people of Madyan and Ayka by sending
an earthquake which destroyed everything. Allah does not destroy entire nations anymore, but He still sends
earthquakes, hurricanes and floods as natural disasters. Volcanoes erupt, and planes crash. These are a form of
punishment on the wrong doing which we all keep on doing and don’t stop. The coronavirus is the latest
punishment Allah has sent on the world. It has affected many people in the world, and some have died from it.
People lost their jobs, their businesses closed down, they couldn’t see their family members for 2 years as some
countries wouldn’t let people back in. Student’s education suffered and people got quite sick. Some people
committed suicide because they got so depressed and upset. Lockdowns made everyone stay at home for months,
and this was very distressing for all. Kids fought and cried.
Earthquakes are the first natural phenomenon that comes to mind when you hear the name Al-Azim and vice versa-
his name is in the forefront of his mind each time an earthquake is in the news. Earthquakes are an excellent
reminder of Allah's greatness and our insignificance. They are both terrifying and magnificent yet deadly.

Do we really take Allah to be the Greatest!

And also that as Allah is the Greatest ...what then am I worried about!
He is The Greatest , greater than the tiny issues which bug me, those which may cause me to lose sleep or may
cause me anxiety!
So I ask Allah Al Azeem to ease my affairs , take away the overwhelm and allow me to only look up to Him in His
Greatness with full Iman and belief ❤️
Aẓeem – the Most High, the Most Great. It is a reminder for us not to be tricked by the standards of this world for
greatness.

Among the meanings of this name are:

1- Allah is glorified and feared by His Slaves.

2- Allah is the owner of Majesty and Greatness in His Kingdom.
3- Allah has the attribute of Greatness and Omnipotence (unlimited power and the ability to do anything).
But Allah’s greatness never comes to an end. Never. It rains heavily in the world… who brings down the rain?
A small pebble will sink in an ocean, a small rock will sink, but a giant ship weighing tons will stay afloat.
Clouds weighing tons and tons don’t fall to the ground. Gravity pushes everything down yet your heart, a
small piece of muscle pumps your blood back up 5 or 6 six feet, AGAINST gravity. Every little thing, every little
atom, every little molecule…we didn’t make it. Allah did and that’s how great he is. Unimagineable,
unthinkable, undescribable.

AL - 'AZHIIM. . . The greatness of Allah. covering all things, all times and also every place so
that humans will not be able to match Him. The majesty of Allah will never be influenced in
the slightest by the actions of His creatures. If only all creatures on earth and in the sky do not
want to worship Allah, then this will not diminish the slightest bit of glory that is possessed by
Allah. On the other hand, if all creatures on earth and in the sky worship Allah, then that also
does not add to the glory of Allah. Allah is Great because of His own essence and not because
of the support of His creatures. We will realize that we are very small, low, and despicable
when compared to the majesty of Allah. Abstain from being arrogant, and selfish, because no
matter how great we are in this world, we will not compete with the greatness of Allah.
Realizing that Allah, the only god who deserves to be worshiped and keep away from shirk.
Al-Azim means the owner of magnificence and greatness.

Allah is Azim. His personality is greater than everything and all great things. He is the one that creates big
things. What we know as big and great is small compared to Him. However, I am unable to understand
the nature of this greatness, to realize its secrets and to perceive it through my mind. I know that Allah is
Azim and greater than everything; and I believe in it. I accept that I am unable to perceive His greatness
but I refer the reality of the issue to Allah. Yes, Allah is Azim but my mind, perception and imagination
cannot understand it. How can I understand the greatness of the Being, who creates the sun and galaxies
out of nothing with only one command, while I cannot understand the greatness of the sun? I only believe
in it and approve it.
2- Allah is great with His names and attributes.

Allah’s knowledge is also limitless like His power. For instance, Allah knows me with His power; similarly,
he knows all human beings and creatures. There is nothing that Allah does not know. We cannot say
knowing this is easier than knowing that related to His knowledge. We cannot talk about yesterday, today
and tomorrow related to Allah. The past and the future, the pre-eternity and post-eternity are always
under His control. In this sense, there is no limit for the attribute of the knowledge of Allah. Allah is al-
Azim in terms of the limitlessness of His attribute of knowledge.

Allah’s sight is limitless like His knowledge. For instance, Allah sees me through His name al-Basir (the
All-Seeing); similarly, He sees all human beings and creatures. Everything is in the scope of His sight. No
creature can be concealed from His sight. He sees and knows the footprints of an ant under the ground in
a dark night. In this sense, there is no limit for the attribute of the sight of Allah. Allah is al-Azim in terms of
the limitlessness of His attribute of sight.

Allah is al-Azim in terms of the limitlessness of His attribute of
hearing.
There is only one "best" and there is only one "most beautiful". That is, of course, Allah. As Al-
Atheem, Allah is "The Supreme".He is the most powerful and important being that could possibly
exist and cannot be bested by anybody in anything. No one can compete with Him, argue with Him or
win against Him.
