 Answer one full question from each unit.

UNIT- I
1. a) A discrete time signal is as shown below. Sketch and label each of the CO1 (06)

2. a) Compute the output for a discrete time linear shift invariant system CO1 (06)
whose impulse response and the input are given by,

b) What is ROC. Do you agree with the statement “For a causal finite CO2 (05)

4. a) Compare the Z-transform of sinusoidal sequences given below: CO2 (10)

5. a) Compute the DFT of each of the following finite-length sequences CO3 (08)
considered to be of length N’

b) Determine point circular convolution of CO3 (04)

6. a) State and prove the following properties of DFT: CO3 (06)

c) Consider two four point sequences . Calculate the 4-point CO3 (06)

UNIT – V
9. a) Design a digital Chebyshev lowpass filter to meet the following CO5 (10)
specifications:
Pass band ripple : 1dB, Passband edge frequency : 400 rad/sec

Stop band attenuation: 20dB ,stop band edge frequency : 800

Sampling rate :1000 samples/sec.
b) Obtain the cascade realization for a system having the following CO5 (05)
function:

c) Compare the mapping from S-plane to Z-plane using Impulse CO5 (05)

10. a) Derive an expression to find the order of Butterworth filter. CO5 (05)
b) Determine the order of the Chebyshev analog low pass filter that has CO5 (05)
a-3 dB cutoff frequency of 100 rad/sec and a stopband attenuation of
25 dB or greater for all radian frequencies past 250 rad/sec.
c) Realize the system with the below mentioned input output CO (10)
relationships in following forms:

(i) Direct form I


(ii) Direct form II
(iii) Transposed realization.
