Lauca National Park

Dear Mayor, of the Putre commune, looking forward to receiving this letter, my
name is Luciel Toro, representative to send this petition and corresponding
information to you from the El Bosque School in Puente Alto, Santiago.

A collection of signatures was made in our College, since it has been reported that
Lauca National Park, which administratively belongs to the Putre commune,
Parinacota province, Arica and Parinacota Region, will be closed and will be
occupied for the construction of various companies. , especially companies such
as the well-known "The Coca Cola Company", which would use the vast majority of
the land of the beloved National Park.

Our request to you is that you withdraw all plans to carry out before the destruction
of this habitat, since the Lauca National Park according to the CONAF (National
Forestry Corporation which intends to contribute to the conservation of biological
diversity, with emphasis on species of native flora and fauna), there is abundant
habitat flora, but the most outstanding resources of this National Park are its
animals, of which there are more than 60 species of birds as well as other
mammals such as Pumas, Vicuñas, Vizcachas, among others.
Therefore, if constructions are used in the place, these animals will lose their
natural habitat in which they have lived for years, and if mismanagement occurs
towards them, it could reduce their number of species or moving them to another
place does not ensure that that place is the best for them and that making such a
sudden change could cause some negative effect on them.

In addition to putting the fauna of the place at risk, it puts its flora at risk, which
would be, for the most part, destroyed from the place when the aforementioned
companies were built, since several of the flora are representative vegetation of
our country.

Our collection of signatures would take place in support of the closure of this
National Park, signatures of which are included students, teachers, College
officials, among others.

And concluding, it is of the utmost importance that you consider our request, since
it is for the fauna to persist, that they continue to have their natural habitat, and that
the flora does not become extinct, since both are equally important to the culture of
our country.

You can contact me directly, or the rector of our College about his response to the
situation and his position.

I hope understanding from him.

Atte. Luciel Toro Student at El Bosque School in Puente Alto.
