1. Preliminary Activities
*. Greetings
Good morning class! Good morning ma'am!
How are you feeling today? We're good ma'am.
That's good to hear.
*. Prayer
Now everybody please stand and we will pray first.
Lina kindly lead the prayer for today. ( Lina leads the prayer)
*. Checking of Attendance
Is there absentees in today's lesson? Nobody is absent ma'am. We're all present.
*. Checking of Assignment
Did we have an assignment? None ma'am.

II. Motivation
Before we start, I want you to look at this.
(The teachers shows pictures)
What can you say about this picture?
What impression can you give by just looking at this picture? Ma'am there are two men shaking their hands.
Why do you think they shake hands with each other? I think it's because they're happy knowing each other ma'am.
Very good! Shaking hands means we are please to meet them
and also it could be interpreted as an end of conversation.

Okay. How about the second picture?

There are people in the meeting ma'am.

Yes Miley!
How can you tell that there's a meeting Mila? Because they are wearing business attire.

You're right Mila!

And if there's a meeting, there will be a speaker too, right? Yes ma'am.
Now look closely at the blonde hair woman.
What do you think is she doing there? Yes Sandra! I think she's not listening ma'am during the meeting.
She's not listening. Great! And perhaps she's not interested.
What else? Yes Gina? I think she's confused ma'am.
How do you say so? Because she's making an expression like she's thinking of
something.
That's right! The woman is perhaps confused too with what the
speaker is saying.
As you can see. We can make different impressions on
someone or something based on how we look or perceive
them.

III. Activity
Now, find a pair because we will be doing an activity called
"listen and draw" today and I want every pair to sit with its
back facing each other while the other pair is facing towards
me. Yes ma'am!
Did you get me class? ( Students are pairing themselves )

Now, here's the instructions:

All students who are facing towards me will be given the task
of the speaker while the other just listen and draw everything
the other pair is saying. Remember, You can't look and cheat.
You'll be disqualified. Yes ma'am!
Is everything clear?
Then here's your task.
(The teacher shows a drawing of a rectangle, box, venn
diagram,
(The students are performing their tasks)
a house, and etc. )
You only have 5 minutes to do it and your time starts now.
IV. Analysis
Okay. Time is up class! Let's check your work.
For Gino and Luke. Very good! You got it right!
Gino instructed his pair to draw a rectangle and he got it right.
Clap! Clap!
( The teacher is checking other's works and they're all good
except for one pair. )
Vicky and Shane. What happen?
Vicky instructed shane to draw a house but she drew
something ( Vivky...)
else. Maybe, we do not hear each other right ma'am.
( Shane...)
Why do you think it happened? I admit I was pressured and I didn't clearly understand her
instructions.
No ma'am because we're having fun and learned new things.

Oh! It's clearly a misinterpretation between you two.

Do you feel bad about it?
Great! What matters is you know that you had shortcomings
and
figures out solution to a problem.

We played a game called "listen and draw" ma'am.

V. Abstraction
Yes ma'am. We have learned how important it is to lisren to
Everybody return to your seats now. other
Who can share to the class about what we did esrlier? people.
Come on Mike. Please stand.
Did you learn something about this activity? We gave impressions to the pictures you showed us ma'am.

Precisely! What else have we done today? Yes Jane?

Alright! Giving impressions to the pictures shown to you.

Take note of this class.

All the things we've done today are all about effective
communication using verbal and non-verbal expressions.
Verbal Communication is using speech or words to convey
meanings.
It can be both oral and written just like what you did in your
activity where you speak and others listen.
Non-Verbal Communication on the other hand, is transmission
of messages through non-verbal platforms such as gestures,
eye contact, facial expressions, posture, use of objects and
body language.
These two play a very important role in every conversation and
failing to have a skill to listen attentively and speak clearly
will lead to miscommunication. Effective communication is very important ma'am because it
maintains harmony and peace between people and also it
resolves conflict and misunderstandings.
What happened to Vicky and Shane earlier is a product of
miscommunication and misinterpretation.
Again, is effective communication important? Why Sandra?
Very well said Sandra! You all did a great job today. Clap!2x

VI. Application
Alright! Now let's form a big circle. Only one circle and put
a chair in the middle.
We'll be doing an activity again. This time I had prepared emojis
for you to choose from. Let's spin the bottle and if it points Yes ma'am. We're ready and excited!
towards you, you have to pick one emoji and perform the task
written in that emoji. ( The bottle points out at Marian )
But here's the twist. The emoji will tell your emotion while Marian picked a happy emoji with a task saying..
doing Act Me Out!
it. Are we clear? Did you understand the instructions? "How could you do this to me!"

Okay. Let's spin the bottle! ( Everyone is laughing )

Alright. Marian is acting a hurtful situation with a happy face.

That's cruel!

( The activity continues.... )
