B. Presentation of Discussion Yes teacher!

Based on our activity, what do you think is our

topic for today’s discussion?
Hi!
Excellent and this three are called texture? Do
you want to know more about texture?

That’s great! Now let’s proceed to the discussion. His contributions are short stories, poems and
critical theories!
C. Discussion

Texture refers to the way tan object feels to the

touch or looks as it may feel if it were touched.
Texture is one of the seven elements of arts.

Two types of texture.

1. Tactile texture is the real thing. It is the
actual way a surface feels when it was felt
or touched, such as rough, smooth, soft, Table teacher!
hard, silky, slimy, sticky, etc.
Example are these objects that you have find.
This is the actual or real texture that we can Rocks teacher!
touch. It can be smooth, hard and rough, soft,
and silky. Twigs teacher!

Can someone give me an example of smooth Soft teacher!

object?

Very good! How about hard?

Nice! Next, how about rough object?

Great! Now I have here a teddy bear is it soft or

hard?

Excellent! So those are the objects that have

texture that we can touch.
Second type of texture is the visual texture.

What is visual texture?

Visual texture is not actual texture. All textures

you observe in photographs, drawings, painting
and etc. are visual texture. This are the texture
that can only be seen but not touch.

Example we have here a picture

It is smooth teacher! / it is rough teacher!

Yes teacher!

Seeing the lines in the picture is it rough or

smooth?

You have different answer but as you can see the

lines seems rough. So that’s what we call visual
texture. We can only use are eyes to identify its
texture if it is hard, smooth, soft or rough but we
cannot touch it. Are we clear with that?

Good! Now let’s move on to the next topic, how

to make visual texture?

So can create visual texture by using lines and

this techniques.

 Hatching
 Cross-hatching
 Back and forth stroke

(the teacher will demonstrate the techniques by

using chalk to sketch in the blackboard)

Also, lines is use to make shapes.

(the teacher will demonstrate it in the
blackboard)

Shapes can also be used to show irregular

surface.
(the teacher will demonstrate in the blackboard)

Lastly pointillism, it uses dots to show

roughness.
(the teacher will demonstrate in the blackboard)

D. Generalization

Now, what have you learned from the

discussion? _______ I learned about different texture teacher, about
rough, smooth, hard and etc.

Excellent! That’s true class. We have different

texture that we can apply and draw it creatively.

How about the others do you have any other

ideas.

Yes, _____ Visual texture teacher we can use lines, shapes,

dots and etc.

Very good! As what I have said the dots, lines

and shapes are used in visual texture that will
show what the roughness and softness of the
drawing, paintings and sketches.

Now do you think texture is important in life and Yes teacher!

art?

Excellent! Texture is important in our lives and

in the art because it plays an important role and
it adds beauty to the masterpiece.

So are you ready to make your own sketch Yes teacher!

displaying visual texture?

showing the different texture and shapes
of each part using only a pencil or black

Make sure that hatching, cross-hatching,

back and forth lines, pointillism, and
