B. REVIEW OF PAST LESSON

It seems that you are all ready, now I want you to
remember our lesson yesterday. Yes, teacher.

Let’s have a recap!

Is there anyone who wants to share their knowledge

& idea on our topic yesterday?
Alright, very good!
Yesterday we tackled about Two-Dimensional
Shapes. And what are these?
Our topic yesterday is all
about 2D shapes.
Good job, everyone! All of your answers are correct.
Give your classmates 3 claps.

* The teacher will show a picture of 2D shapes.

Circle, Square, Triangle,
Rectangle, Quadrilateral, and
Pentagon

Again, these are the 2-Dimensional Shapes.

Okay class, based on our discussion yesterday 2D

2D Shapes are flat figure as you can see in the

picture, it has only two dimensions length & width 2D Shapes has only two
like what you are saying a while ago. It has no dimensions length and width.
thickness & depth.

Did you understand? 2D Shapes do not have

thickness & can be measured
Is there any question & clarification about this topic? in only two faces.

C. MOTIVATION

So now, I’ve prepared an activity for you. Our activity * The student will clap 3x*
is called “Name that shape!”.

The class will be group into 5.

I will give mystery bag to each group and inside of

that you will see different stuffs and I want you to
organize it in your table and fine the tangible objects
of 2D and 3D shapes that I’ve put in there & explain Yes, teacher.
to the class what you have found.
None, teacher.
* Each group will receive a worksheet*

The first group that will organize all the stuff well and
find the tangible objects will be the winner. The
winner will receive prize.

Did you understand class?

*The game will begin*

Did you enjoy the game class?

While doing your activity, what are the things did

you observed?

Very good class! I’m happy that you learn how to

organize your things with the help of our game. I
hope you will do it also in your house to help your
mother in some household chores.

D. LESSON PROPER
Okay class, before we proceed to our main
discussion, I will show you a short video which has
something to do with our new topic and I want all of
you to observed carefully and enjoy.
Yes, teacher!
Okay?

Yes, teacher.

We learned how to organize,

arrange, and find things/stuffs
teacher.

*The teacher will play a video. *

Did you enjoy class?

Based on the video that we have watched a while

ago. What have you observed?

Very Good! Is there anything else?

Very Good! Did you remember all the 3D shapes that

shown in the video? Yes, teacher.

Can you give me those examples of 3D shapes one by

one?

And please elaborate what did you observed, did you

understand class?

*The teacher will call students to answer*

*The teacher will show a picture of cube as a dice*

Yes, teacher.

It shows the different

Good job, everyone! It also shows real-life objects

Did you remember the second 3D shapes that shown that looks like 3D shapes
in the video? teacher.
What is this? Yes, teacher.
What did you have notice about the cone shape?

Very Good! Yes, teacher.

Based on the video that we have watched a while
ago. Cone looks like what?
The first 3D shape in the video
Very Good! is cube.
*The teacher will show a picture of cone as a party Cube looks like a dice.
hat*

Can you give me another example of the things that

look like a cone?

Correct! Let’s give your classmate a “Ang Galing

Clap!”
Do you still remember the clap, class??
Rubik’s cube, teacher.

Okay class, good job! The three-dimensional shapes

shown in the video are cube, cone, sphere, pyramid,
and cylinder. And now, I want to introduce another
3D shapes. Yes, teacher.
It is called rectangular prism.
The second 3D shape is cone
In your own opinion, what are the things or ideas teacher.
that came in your mind when you hear rectangular
prism? Anyone?
It’s look like a triangle
teacher.
Very Good!

From the word itself rectangular, its shape is like

rectangle. Cone looks like a party hat.

Can you give me a real-life object that looks like

rectangle?

Very Good! Another?

Very Good! I have here a picture of a rectangular

picture.

Christmas tree, teacher.

You’re right it looks like rectangular shape. And I also

have here a real-life example of rectangular prism I
know most of you are familiar with this specially the Yes, teacher.

And now class, what are the six 3D Shapes that we

mention a while ago?

*The teacher will show a picture of six 3D shapes. *

Notebook, teacher.

Shoe Box, teacher.

Three-Dimensional(3D)
Shapes can be defined as a solid figure or an object
or shape that has three-dimensions.
Lengthy, width, and height.
Three-dimensional shapes have thickness & depth.

What is the difference of 2D and 3D shapes?

Very Good! Another?

Very well said class! Let’s give yourselves 5 claps!

Alright! Most of 3D shapes are made up of faces, Lego, ma’am

edges, and vertices.

When you hear faces? What do you think is that?

Very Good!
Cube, Cone, Sphere, Cylinder,
When we say faces of 3D Shapes it is the flat part of Pyramid
the shape. And Rectangular Prism

*The teacher will show where it is located*

How many faces that cube have?

Very Good! Cube has 6 faces. When you hear edges,

what do you think is that?

Correct! Edges is the straight line that separate the

faces.

This where edges located.

How many edges that cube have?

Very Good! Cube has 12 edges. 2D has only length and width
while the 3D has length,
When you hear vertices, what do you think is that? width, and height.

Correct! Vertices or corners is a point where two or 2D has no thickness and depth
more lines meet. while 3D shapes define as a
solid figure.

I will show you where vertices located. *The students will clap
5x! *

It is the sides of the shape,

have?

Well done everyone, did you understand our lesson?

Is there any question or clarification about this topic?

E. APPLICATION

Good Job! Since everyone are doing great in our

discussion for today. I’ve prepared activity for you.

Our activity is called “Creating 3D Shapes”.

Here’s the step of the activity.

6, teacher.
The class will be group into 3.

Step 1: Get 8 popsicle sticks and 5 pieces of play

It is the line of the shape,
dough.
ma’am.
Step 2: Use both hands and roll the play dough
pieces into small balls.

Step 3: Connect the play dough balls with pop sticks

to make a square.

Step 4: Place four more pop sticks pointing up and

connect them by the play dough ball to make a
pyramid.

Step 5: After making the pyramid, answer the

flashcards regarding the number of faces, edges, and
vertices in a 3D shapes.

12, teacher.

It is the corner in the shapes

teacher.

I will give the materials needed which are the pop

sticks, play dough, and flashcards. I want you to
follow the procedure and after making 3D shape
answer the flashcards regarding the number of faces,
edges, & vertices.
Is that clear?

The first group that will finish the task will be the
winner. The winner will receive prizes. 8, teacher.

Did you understand class?

Yes, ma’am.
Okay class. I will give you 10 minutes to finish this
activity.
None, teacher.
*The game will begin*

*The game will end*

Did you enjoy class?

While doing your activity a while ago, what are the

things that you observed?

Very Good class! I’m happy that you learned how to

identify the faces, edges, & vertices in 3D shapes.

F. GENERALIZATION

If you really understand our lesson, I will call

someone to give his/her insights about our lesson for
today.

Very Good! Another?

Correct! Is there anything else?

Very Good! Again, what are the six 3D shapes?

Very Good class! For that give yourselves a “Ang

Galing Clap”
Yes, teacher.

Yes, teacher.

*The game will begin*

*The game will end*

Yes, teacher.

We learned how to identify

the faces, edges, & vertices in
3D shapes.

*The students are raising their

hands*

3D shapes are also called solid

shapes.

3D shapes have length, width,

& height.

3D shapes have thickness or

depth.

Cube, Cone, Cylinder, Sphere,

Pyramid, and Rectangular
Prism.
