3. Checking of Attendance
Nami as our class beadle, will you please check our attendance (Nami will check the
for today. attendance)
Who is absent today Nami?
Very good! All of you are present here today. Keep it up class. Nami: No one is absent for
today, Teacher!
4. Setting of Agreement
Class, I have here some flashcards. I want you to tell me what
you can see in the flashcard.
(Students simultaneously
But before that, let's have a setting of agreement. When I call answering “yes sir because….”)
your name, you should read the following agreement.
Understand?
Pupils: Aye! Aye! Sir Jeff!
Ace read the posted text aloud.
Ace: “Raise your hand if you
want to answer”
Next, Sabo read the posted text
Sabo: “Listen Carefully”
Last, Buggy read the following agreement aloud
Buggy: “Participate in all
activities ”
Okay class read simultaneously our agreement.
Pupils: (Students read at the
same time.)
Again, I have here some flashcards. I want you to tell me what
you can see in the flashcard. Pupils: yes sir
What is the shape that you can see in this flashcard? Ok Arlong.
Arlong: Sir it’s a triangle
How many triangles are these on the flashcard? Ok, Robin.
Robin: there are 5 triangles sir.
How about in this figure? How many triangles can you see? Ok,
Asta Asta: there are 13 triangles
Very good class! Let’s give them an excellent clap Pupils: (clapping)
5. Review
Before we proceed to our new lesson, (pupils will raise their hands)
let’s have a review first. Who can still
remember our past lesson?
Yes, Natsu. Natsu: Sir, our past lesson was
about finding the area of
parallelogram.
Very good! Natsu
What is the formula to find the area of parallelogram? Yes, Loki Loki: The formula to find the
area of parallelogram is A=bxh
B. Motivation
Class, look around. What can you observe in our classroom? Pupils: Sir, It looks like fiesta
Why did you say so? Yes, Mao Mao: Sir because there’s a lot
of banderitas
When you saw banderitas, what comes into your mind? Lucy: Sir, when I saw
banderitas I feel the celebration
Exactly! of fiesta.
Okay, Very Good! Give yourselves around of applause!
What is the common shape of banderitas? Yes, Grey Grey: triangle sir
We shall explore more about that shape.
C. Presentation of Topic
Now class reflect on what you’ve seen in the picture before. Brook: I think it is all about
What do you think would be our topic for today? Yes, Brook! Finding the Area of a Triangle
That’s right, Brook! Our topic for today is all about Finding the
Area of a Triangle
Give Brook a Yahohoho clap. (Pupils Clapping)
D. Discussion
Class open your textbooks in page 205 .
Area of Triangle
The area of a triangle is defined as the total space occupied by Pupils: (Listen to a discussion)
the three sides of a triangle in a 2-dimensional plane. The basic
formula for the area of a triangle is equal to half the product of
its base and height, i.e., A = 1/2 × b × h. This formula is
applicable to all types of triangles, whether it is a scalene
triangle, an isosceles triangle, or an equilateral triangle. It should
be remembered that the base and the height of a triangle are
perpendicular to each other.
What is the Area of a Triangle?
The area of a triangle is the region enclosed within the sides of
the triangle. The area of a triangle varies from one triangle to
another depending on the length of the sides and the internal
angles. The area of a triangle is expressed in square units, like,
m2, cm2, in2, and so on.
The basic formula that is used to find the area of a triangle is:
Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height
Observe the following figure to see the base and height of a
triangle.
Let us find the area of a triangle using this formula.
Example: What is the area of a triangle with base 'b' = 2 cm and
height 'h' = 4 cm?
Solution: Using the formula: Area of a Triangle, A = 1/2 × b × h
= 1/2 × 2 × 4 = 4 cm2
Triangles can be classified based on their angles as acute,
obtuse, or right triangles. They can be scalene, isosceles, or
equilateral triangles when classified based on their sides. Let us
learn about the other ways that are used to find the area of
triangles with different scenarios and parameters.
Example 1: Find the area of a triangle with a base of 10 inches
and a height of 5 inches.
Solution:
Let us find the area using the area of triangle formula:
Area of triangle = (1/2) × b × h
A = 1/2 × 10 × 5
A = 1/2 × 50
Therefore, the area of the triangle (A) = 25 in2
Yami: Area of triangle = (1/2)
Another example who want to solve it on the board. Yes, Yami ×b×h
Find the area of a triangle with a base of 8 cm and a height of 7
cm. A = 1/2 × 8 × 7
Solution: A = 1/2 × 56
Area of triangle = (1/2) × b × h A = 28 cm²
A = 1/2 × 8 × 7
A = 1/2 × 56
A = 28 cm²
Very Good Yami.
Another example, the given is already have a area with no height
what is the formula do we use.
For example the triangle is have a 12cm base and 84cm² area.
What is the height of a triangle? So, the formula na gagamitin
natin is:
h=2xA/b
h=2x84cm²/12cm
h=168cm²/12cm
h=14cm
How about the given is no base.
For example the triangle have a 12m height and 36m² Area.
What is the base of a triangle?
b=2xA/h
b=2x36m²/12m
b=72m²/12m
b= 6m Sanji: A= (1/2) × b × h
So, this is the formula in getting the Area, Base, and Height in
the following;
A=½(bxh) or bxh/2
h=2xA/b Franky: “h=2xA/b”
b=2xA/h
Pupils: (1,2,3 Clap2x, Supeer)
“Sanji what is the formula in finding the area of a triangle?”
Law: “b=2xA/h”
“Very Good Sanji that’s right”
“What about Franky, what is the formula in finding the height of (Students Clapping)
a triangle?”
“That’s right Franky” Give a Super! Clap for Franky
“Law, what is the formula in finding the base of a triangle”
“Law your answer is correct, give Law around of applause”
Pupils: A= (1/2) × b × h
Kaido: by deriving
E. Generalization
Again Class, based on our discussion that we had, what is the
formula in finding the area of triangle?
How did we get the formula for finding the area of triangle?
Okay very good!
F. Application (through station game)
Group Activity- station game! Pupils: Yes sir Jeff.
(Take them as a group to have a
station activity outside of the room.
They will go in every station to
accomplish their task.
Before the pupils go outside. Teacher
will give an envelope in every group.
It contains the materials that they can
use in every station.)
Class count 1 to 5 by grouping after that you may choose a
group leader and get the envelop her. Then, you will go in every
station to accomplish your task.
Pupils: Yes Sir.
Station 1- the figure by group is given.
Station 2- they use ruler to measure
the figure that they get.
Station 3- they are going to write their
work in the clean paper and solve it.
Station 4- they make a yell
Station 5- (in the classroom) they will present their work.
Very good class, Give yourselves a good job
clap!
Lets Begin. Now….
