you can write your answers in your

that only used white marks in encircling
those things. Do you have any (Students will enter to nearpod)

meaning and its parts.
Are you ready?
What is circle? The center.

The radius.
It is made up of points that are at a fixed
distance from a fixed point.
Fixed point is known as?
Good!
How about the fixed distance?
Very Good!
In circle O, the fixed point or center is
point O and the fixed distance is radius.
This means that all points on circle O
are r units away from center O.
You can draw a circle with the center O
and radius1 units on a plane. Yes.
Let’s see and study the steps. (The students will answer)

Can you circle O in the grid paper? I c. Segment
will give you a minute to do it. d. Arc
(I will call 1 student to explain)
Great!
In this point, what are the other parts of
a circle? Do you have any idea?

Excellent!
1. Chord
A line segment that connects
any two points of a circle.

2. Arc
A part of the circumference of a
circle.

3. Diameter
A chord that passes through the
center of the circle.

4. Segment
A region bounded by a chord
and an arc of a circle.
I will show you examples.
1. Points B, C, D and E are on a
circle A. Chord BC is a line
segment that connects points B
and C. Arc DE is an arc on
circle A that connects points D
and E.

2. Points E, F, and H are on circle

Segment GH is a region in circle

What is the length of the longest chord r = 0.75

diameter. Therefore, the diameter of a
circle is twice the radius of it.
The formula in getting the diameter is
d=2 r. A compass is a tool used for drawing
circles.
Example: d= 2(5)
(The students will answer)
The formula in getting the radius is
r = d/2
Example: r = 1.5/2
Do you understand?
In making complete circle we used
different things to make it. One of this
and appropriate to use is a Compass.
What is a compass?
Do you know how to use this?
Let’s follow these steps on how to use
it.
Step 1: Insert a small pencil into the
holder arm of the compass.
Step 2: Tighten
the screw of the compass to hold the
pencil in place.

Step 3: Open the

compass until the distance between the
pencil tip and the compass point is a. Bowl

We can also use

other things to create complete circle.

Do you understand?
Now that you are familiar with the (C = π x 2r) or (C = π x d)
different parts of a circle and how to
solve for radius and diameter, let's
watch this short video presentation. Circumference is the distance around the
circle.
Before I play the video, what are things
that we need to keep in mind while

I hope you do all those.

Now, let’s try to create a complete

circle.
Instruction: Draw a circle using
different tools and label its parts.
(The learners will start working with the
activity)
I will give you 3 minutes to do the task.
I will call some students to explain their
task.
Do you understand?
Are you all done?

Excellent!

At this time, we will have another

activity. Please check the link I send in
our in-call messages.

Now let as all try to answer this activity

via the word wall application.

Each student can only answer one
question.
Is it clear class?
If yes let as all start.
1. What is the circumference of a
circle given that is radius is

2. What is the circumference of

the circle if its diameter is

Now that you are fully familiar with our

lesson, let us proceed to our final
activity. (Students will read)

To summarize our discussions, let us

complete the following sentences orally.

1. A ______ is a closed plane

figure that has no straight sides.
2. The fixed point is known as
_______ while the fixed distance is
________.
2. _______ is a line segment that
connects any two points of a
circle.

5. ______ is a region bounded by a
chord and an arc of a circle.
6. _________ is the distance
around the circle.
7. The formula in solving
circumference is
(C = π x _r) or (C = π x_)
