Stategies: 5E’s, Collaborative Approach, Explicit Teaching, Differentiated
Instruction, Thought Showering, Pass the Ball, Reporting, Randomizer
Values Integration:
Self discipline in throwing our own garbage in public places,
cooperation and respect.

III. Procedure
A. Engagement
Teacher’s Activity Indicators
A. Engagement May I request everyone to please stand for a
prayer. (The leader will take its turn to lead
the class). In a count of five I want you to
form your line. Bow down your heads and let
us pray.
Okay, Good Morning children!
You may take your seat now and see
to it that your chairs are well arranged.
1
May I know if who is not around
this Morning?
Let us give a very good clap to
those who are here. So, if possible, class,
never be absent.
Setting of Standards
Before we start let’s set some
ground rules first.
1. Avoid going out and talking
with your seatmates
2. Always listen and seat properly
3. Always cooperate with your
group if there is a group activity
4. Don’t make unnecessary
movements.
5. Show respect to everyone.

Remember to follow the rules inside the

classroom. Every row is given with
Guardian Angel. For them to always guide
your way up to the end of our class, so you Indicator 5- Managed
need to follow the rules. Once you will learner behavior
misbehave, I will get one feather from an
Angel’s wing.

Is everything clear children?

Let us sing first a song about circle.
(Use a video )
1. Drill

This time children let us have a drill by

giving the diameter of circle whose radius
will be flashed by the teacher.

Strategy is Passing the Ball.

 The teacher will pass the ball as

the music starts playing. The

2
pupils pass the ball to their
classmates and when the music
stops , the one who holds the ball
will be the one to answer.
Are you ready ? ( Music starts
playing )……
……………..then the music stops playing

a) 4 cm
b) 15 m
c) 3.5 m
d) 18 cm
e) 24 cm

(The teacher will give each pupil who got a

correct answer with 5 claps with a WOW!)
2. Review

(Using name randomizer ) So, once your

name will be choosen then its your turn to
answer.
Indicator 8- Use of ICT
How can you compute the circumference if
the given is radius? How about when the

diameter is given?

3. Motivation

What have you seen in the picture class?

Have you been to a plaza? What can you find
there?
 The gardener of the area
maintains its beauty by planting
trees and flowers.
( Integration of EPP )

3
 So, how will you help keep the
plaza clean?
( Integration of Edukasyon sa
Pagpapakatao)
If you look inside our classroom class what

engage learners ,
individually or in groups
B. Explaination Our lesson for today class is all about
Solving Routine and Non-Routine Problems
Involving Circumference of A Circle.

But before we will proceed, let us have

Unlocking of unlocking of difficult words in order for you
Difficulties to understand its meaning.
1. Routine – is a type of problem which
there is an immediate solution.
Example
1. Mr. Reyes is laying out a circular
playground. Its radius is 50metres. What
is its circumference ?
2. Non-Routine Problems– is a
problem which requires analysis. It
involves difficult problem solving.
1. Jayson walked across a circular
swimming pool and it is 5 feet
across the center. How far will
Jayson swim around the pool ?

I will read first the words, then together and

your turn then.

situations ?

I have here a problem.

1. Presentation
Indicator 1 – Applied
knowledge of content
Alice is making a circular table cloth. It has a
within and across
diameter of 2 meters. How many meters of
lace are needed to decorate the sides of the curriculum teaching areas.
table cloth?

How are we going to perform the activity?

2. Discussion 1. Understand
a. What is asked?
 The length of the lace needed to
decorate the sides of the table
cloth.
b. What are the given?
 Diameter of table cloth which is 2
meters.

2. Plan
What will you do to answer the
problem?
C= π x d
3. Solve: Show the solution
C=π x d
= 3.14 x 2
= 6.28 meters
4.Check: How will you check it?
d= C
π
= 6. 28
3.14
= 2 meters

You just need to follow the steps in solving.

C. Exploration Indicator 2 – Used a range

of teaching strategies that
I will group you into 3. Count 1, 2, 3…… enhance learner

1. Guided When I say 1, you go to your group. When I achievement in literacy

Practice say 2, form a circle and 3 zipper your mouth. and numeracy skills.

5
Let us have the guidelines in conducting or
performing group activities.
1. Read the directions carefully.
2. Help your groupmates.
3. Don’t be late in passing your work.

Here we have a scoring chart

G- 1 G-2 G-3
Correctness
Cooperation
Speed

The group with a highest score wins the

activity. Highest score is 20.

Remember to choose a leader and a reporter

in every group. The first group who finished
first the activity will give their yells.

Are you ready children?

Okay, very good!

After the class are done solving the problems

given. So they are responsible in reporting
their outputs.
Strategy – Reporting
Strategy – Differentiated Instruction
Group 1 – Match Me Indicator 6- Use
differentiated Instruction
Manuel wants to build a fence around a
circular pond. The radius of the pond is
3.2 m. How long should the fence be?

Column A

6
1.What is being asked in the problem?
2.What is /are the given facts?
3.What is the formula to be used?
4. What is the answer?
5. What is the diameter of the garden?

Column B
a. 6.4 m
b. 20.1 m
c. Length of the fence needed to enclose
the pond
d. r= 3.2 m
e. C = 2 π r

Group 2- Draw and Solve

Mr. Reyes is laying out a circular playground.

Its radius is 50 meters. What is its
circumference?

Group 3- Collaborative Approach

A wheel has a radius of 7 inches. How far

does it roll in one complete turn?

(So, every group will present their output)

Okay, let us give group 1 a Good Job clap !
Very Good for Group 2 and Fireworks Clap
for Group 3.

So, every group will receive reward for doing

such a great job. Congratulations children!

Solve for the circumference.

2. Independent 1. A bicycle tire has a radius of 30 cm. Find
the distance around the tire.
Practice
7
D. Elaboration

1. Generalizations What is the difference between routine and

non-routine problems ? How do we solve
problems involving circumference of a
circle ? How can you compute the
circumference if the given is radius? How
about when the

diameter is given?

E. Evaluation
Indicator 9- Designed a
Read, analyze and solve. ( 5 points each )
formative assessment
1. Lorna’s circular garden is 5 meters in
strategies
diameter. How many meters of wire are
needed to put a fence around it?
2. The diameter of a tricycle tire is 60 cm.
How far will the tire go in one rotation?
3. Find the circumference of a circle with a
diameter of 21 meters.
Assignment

Solve for the circumference.

1. Rixen’s bicycle wheel has a diameter
of 70 cm. What is the circumference
of the wheel?

VI. Annotations

The Philosophy of Learning by Mastering the Skills

The lesson plan uses the philosophy of learning by mastering the skills of John Dewey during
the group activities and in application of knowledge in independent practice. Pupils learned to master
the skills during the discussion, then they were able to apply the skills during group activities. By doing
the skills on their own they are increasing the level of retention.

8
Based on the Article IV, Section 2 of the Code of Ethics

Section 2. Every teacher shall uphold the highest possible standards of quality education, shall
make the best preparations for the career of teaching, and shall be at his best at all times and in the
practice of his profession.

This is true to the strategies applied during my Group Activities and during the discussion for the
mastery of skills.

Remarks
Reflections
A. No.of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work ? No. of
learners who caught up with the lessons.
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation.
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or superior can help me solve?
