PILOT IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NON-DEPED RESEARCH

ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION SYSTEM (N-DRESS)

1. Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 26, s. 2021 titled Amendment to DepEd Order
No. 16, s. 2017 (Research Management Guidelines), this Office, through the
Planning and Research Unit of the School Governance and Operations
Division, launches the pilot implementation of the Non-DepEd Research
Electronic Submission System (N-DRESS).

2. The implementation of the N-DRESS aims to:

a) provide researchers with a user-friendly online platform, eliminating
the constraints of physical submission and allowing for greater
convenience in submitting research proposals;
b) enables easy uploading and storage of documents, ensuring proper
documentation and efficient retrieval when needed;
c) reduce the time required for the evaluation and approval of research
proposals; and
d) utilize electronic communication channels to provide updates,
notifications, and endorsements to researchers.

3. Categorized as non-DepEd research studies, the following types are included:

undergraduate thesis, master's thesis, dissertations, and research studies
funded by private organizations. It should be noted that the N-DRESS
system exclusively handles these specific research study categories. For
other types of research studies, the conventional method of submitting hard
copies at the Records Section must still be followed.

4. In the N-DRESS, research students/proponents are required to submit their

research documents at https://bit.ly/ZPermit2ConductStudy.

5. The pilot implementation will run from June 26 to July 28, 2023. During
this time, the Office will still accept submission of hard copies of letter
requests but highly encourages everyone to utilize the N-DRESS.

changes have been made based on the result of the pilot implementation.

1. Letter request signed by the researcher and their direct supervisor or thesis
adviser, addressed to:

Include the following details in the letter:

 Title of research
 Academic institution where the researcher is enrolled/connected
 Mobile number of the lead researcher
 Email address of the lead researcher
 Signature of researcher/s
 Signature of research/thesis/dissertation adviser for
undergraduate/graduate student researchers

2. Short description of research (1 page only) including title, short introduction

(1-3 sentences), research questions, methods, and data collection tool (e.g.,
interview guide question, survey questionnaire)

3. If currently employed as teaching/non-teaching personnel of SDO Zambales,

a copy of permit to study is required.
