PAST SIMPLE

TO BE
El pasado simple del verbo to be es was y were. Utilice was y were para hablar de cosas
que empezaron y terminaron en el pasado. Ejemplo:
- I was five years old. Tenía cinco años.
- The people in Colombia were very friendly. Las personas en Colombia eran muy
amables.

SUJETO + WAS / WERE + COMPLEMENTO

WAS / WERE + SUJETO + COMPLEMENTO?

Simple Past con Regular Verbs (verbos terminados en -ed)

Ejemplo:

- I studied Chinese last year. Estudié chino el año pasado.


- We lived in Turkey for three years. Vivimos en Turquía por tres años.
Simple Past con Irregular Verbs

SUJETO + VERBO IRREGULAR + COMPLEMENTO

SUJETO + DIDN’T (DID NOT) + VERBO INFINITIVO + COMPLEMENTO

DID + SUJETO + VERBO INFINITIVO

Al usar WH QUESTIONS (what, where, when, what time, who, why or how) en pasado
seguimos la siguiente fórmula: WQ +did + subject + infinitive.
Ejemplos:
- When did you go?
- How did you travel?
- When did you went? How did you traveled?
