The history of the internet timeline in a chronological view.

In 1969, MIT scientists invented a data transmission method and the first data
to send from one computer to another was ‘LOG’. They converted the word
‘LOG’ into binary values and sent from one to another using the wired medium.

In 1970, 13 computers at MIT were internally connected.

In 1971, the first email was sent using @ sign in ARPANET.

In 1983, the TCP/IP protocols became more strong and sophisticated. Some
attributes addition like acknowledgment (ACK) and reverse acknowledgment
(RAK) made the internetworking as a good outlook.

In 1990, a CERN scientist T.B. Lee proposed a markup language which is

named HTTP later. In this proposed method, Lee connected CERN employees
by sharing messages through this language platform. But this method was
limited to CERN members only.

In 1993, the proposed method of Lee was open to the public and the first
website launched in the world. Although some say that the first website was
launched in 1991 but that wasn’t public or free.

In 1995, famous market place and shop cart amazon.com made their first
launch and still they’re the best sellers in online shopping. Google introduced
itself as a search engine in 1997 with yahoo. Both are top search engine now.

Social media sites: facebook, twitter, youtube, LinkedIn invented or created

within 2000-2010 and now you cannot live a single day without it.

In short the internet revolution as follows:

 1969 – ARPANET launched and sent a message using text to binary
encoding and decoding
 1970 – ARPANET connected 13 computers in their internetworking
 1971 – First email was launched using @ notation
 1983 – TCP/IP protocol invented
 1990 – Lee created hypertext markup language and the first static
website was built for CERN scientists
 1993 – Static website was made public
 1995 – Amazon.com launched its website
 1997 – Google and yahoo search engine introduced to worldwide and
best search engines ever
 2004 – social media facebook launched
 2007 – Whitehouse launched twitte
History of the Internet Social media timeline, here is their chronological
view

 1971 – The first email was sent by Ray Tomlinson and it was a self
bounced email to him. But he succeeded in it and first social contraction
was made.
 1986 – Template based mailing manager was developed by Eric Thomas
and named as Listserv because it was the first mail server and able to
transfer emails from person to person. The server was taken down for the
next up-gradation later.
 1988 – Eric’s Listserv was modified and merged with real-time chat.
Internet Relay protocol was used in this method and both parties could
chat at a time using half-duplex connectivity. It was named IRC (Internet
Relay Chat). As it was not a fast method, IRC soon disappeared and
disbanded by IEEE.
 1996 – Andrew Weinreich invented sixdegrees.com, the first social site
for school affiliations. It had friend lists, personal profiles and combined
popular features.
 2002~2003 – Dynamic social media was first introduced in Malaysia
named as Friendster. Google wanted to buy it for 30 million USD back in
2003
 2004- A social media named Facebook invented by Mark Zuckerburg in
2004.
 2005 - created an online video streaming site named youtube.com and
currently in the top 10 sites of the world.
