The most applicable mode of transportation in the Philippines depends on factors like
geography, infrastructure, urbanization. Given the nature of the country, a combination of land and
water transport is needed. Jeepneys and tricycles are widely used for short-distance travel, especially in
very populated areas with narrow roads. Buses and taxis serve longer routes and urban centers. In rural
areas, water transportation, such as boats, plays an important role. Islands are connected, and rivers are
navigated using various craft. However, challenges like limited road infrastructure in some regions can
make air travel more practical for reaching remote areas.

In my community, the most applicable mode of transportation would likely be cars or

motorcycles for personal mobility. This assumes a suburban or urban setting where public transportation
may not be as extensive or convenient. Cars offer flexibility and convenience for various activities, while
motorcycles are efficient for navigating through traffic. However, the environmental impact and traffic
congestion should be considered, prompting a need for sustainable and well-planned transportation
solutions.

2. Read and create a short summary on the history of Department of Public Works and Highways.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Philippines has a rich history
dating back to its establishment on June 23, 1898, during the early days of Philippine independence.
Originally known as the Department of War and Public Works, it was tasked with infrastructure
development and maintenance. Over the years, the department underwent several reorganizations and
changes in name until it became the DPWH in 1987.

Throughout its history, the DPWH has played a pivotal role in shaping the country's
infrastructure landscape. It has been instrumental in the construction of roads, bridges, and other public
structures, contributing significantly to national development and connectivity. The department has
