Crackplatoon

During Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971, guerrilla activities played a pivotal role as
the Mukti Bahini, the Bangladeshi freedom fighters, employed various tactics against
the better-equipped and trained Pakistani military. These tactics included sabotage of
infrastructure, ambushes on patrols and convoys, hit-and-run attacks on military
positions, and engaging in propaganda and psychological warfare. The 'Crackplatoon,'
a renowned guerrilla unit formed in 1971, stood out for its small size, high-level training,
and success in daring raids and sabotage missions against Pakistani targets.

Guerilla activities played a crucial role in Bangladesh's Liberation War of 1971. The
Bangladeshi freedom fighters, known as the Mukti Bahini, employed a variety of
guerrilla tactics to harass and undermine the Pakistani military, which was significantly
better equipped and trained. These tactics included:

 Sabotage: The Mukti Bahini frequently targeted Pakistani infrastructure, such as

bridges, railways, and power plants, to disrupt their operations and communication
networks.
 Ambushes: Small groups of Mukti Bahini fighters would ambush Pakistani patrols and
convoys, striking quickly and then disappearing into the surrounding countryside.
 Hit-and-run attacks: The Mukti Bahini would launch surprise attacks on Pakistani
military positions, inflicting casualties and then retreating before the Pakistani forces
could retaliate.
 Propaganda and psychological warfare: The Mukti Bahini distributed leaflets and spread
rumors to demoralize the Pakistani troops and boost the morale of the Bangladeshi
population.

One of the most famous guerrilla units during the Liberation War was the 'Crackplatoon'.
Formed in 1971, the Crackplatoon was a small, highly trained group of commandos who
carried out daring raids and sabotage missions against Pakistani targets. They were
known for their courage, skill, and elusiveness.
