Code of Conduct

Each time you sign-on to a Goodwood managed vessel you are agreeing to behave in a safe and professional
manner and to observe this Code of Conduct at all times.

This Code of Conduct contains the basic rules of reasonable behavior expected of all Officers, Cadets and
Ratings on board ship as well as shore offices. By observing it you will be helping to make the environment
onboard harmonious, secure and safe for everyone. This should be read in conjunction with HSQEEn 08.15.01
(for ship’s staff) and HSQEEn 08.02.05 (for shore staff).

If any person, after an appropriate investigation has been completed, is found to have contravened any part of
this Code of Conduct, shall be considered guilty of “misconduct” and will be subject to the Company’s
disciplinary procedure.

We do not tolerate retaliation. We consider acts of retaliation to be misconduct. Retaliation can take many
forms, for example: threats, intimidation, exclusion, humiliation and raising issues maliciously or in bad faith.

Obey orders – to operate the ship safely and efficiently all reasonable orders must be obeyed. If an order or
instruction is not clear or appears to be unreasonable, you are entitled to ask for and receive clarification
and/or an explanation. In an Emergency situation unquestioning obedience of orders is required.

Be safe – always undertake duties according to the procedures defined in the HSQEEn management system.
The procedures are implemented to ensure you and your colleagues are safe at all times.

Perform duties – pay attention to your tasks and duties and perform them effectively and efficiently. If you are
unsure about how to complete a task, you must ask for help and further guidance.

Fit for duty – adhere at all times to the Goodwood Drug & Alcohol Policy.

Keep your knowledge and skills up to date – the Company will provide training to enable you to maintain your
professional competence but it is your responsibility to request and/or take up these opportunities.

Be Respectful - value each person as an individual and treat him or her with dignity and thoughtfulness.

Be Honest – always tell the truth, whatever the circumstances.

Be Accountable – be answerable for your own conduct and actions, don’t blame others.

Be a Team Player - accept the differences in people and be considerate to others.

Be Legal – never keep illegal material either in the form of publications, on computers or in mobile phones.

Be Professional – do every part of your job to the very best of your ability. Be proud of what you do.
