IMC EXAM INSTRUCTIONS

The online IMC exam will be on November 17 from 8:00 a.m. until November 19 at 8:00 a.m.
(Bangkok Time GMT+7).
In total, you have 48 hours of available time to take the exam anytime you're available in that time
frame.
Please read the steps in this guideline very carefully.
This guide is prepared for participants in order to show them how to take the exam on the Online
International Math Challenge exam platform.
Tryout Exam Details
1 Exam Date
The TRYOUT EXAM will be active from November 1 until November 15,
2023.

2 Exam Purpose
Tryouts are intended for students to get familiar with the IMC exam
platform, learn to navigate through the platform, and learn how to finish
and submit the exam.

3 Question Format
The tryout exam will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes and
is not the first round of the competition.

Although tryouts are not compulsory and are not the first step of the

competition, we strongly suggest participants have a look at the platform and
get familiar with the system.
Exam Information
The exam will be active for 48 hours starting on November 17 at 08:00 AM (Thailand

Time, UTC+7) on our website, register.mathchallenge.in.th, where you have registered.

2 Exam Duration
Category Kids: 25 questions, 60 minutes; Categories 1–5: 40 questions with four
multiple- choice questions, 90 minutes.

3 Languages
The exam will be offered in English, Thai, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish.

4 Scoring
Three wrong answers will invalidate one correct answer. Time taken will be decisive in cases
of equal scores.

5 Calculator Usage
Calculators are not allowed during the exam.
