Part 1

Goal: The goal of the scenario is to demonstrate how communication skills can

effectively be used in real-life situations.

Role: My role is a teacher of life skills.

Audience: The target audience for this performance task is a diverse group of 6th

graders.

Situation: I will need to step out of the classroom into a creative and new environment

to show the students how to develop essential life skills through practical experiences.

Product, Performance, and Purpose: The product I am creating will be plays and

written stories that demonstrate real-life experiences to explain the usage of life skills in

navigating through different circumstances in life and solving problems.

Standards and Criteria for Success: My standards and criteria for success include

assessing written material using highly developed rubrics to assess the students’ stories.

Likewise, the activities should be simple to understand for my target audience and allow their

active participation.
